Taiwan is second in the world in terms of its startup business environment, according to a report by Global Entrepreneurship Monitor covering 53 economies. The country placed behind the United Arab Emirates and ahead of neighbors South Korea and Japan in eighth and seventeenth, respectively. The report cited Taiwan's strong infrastructure, government support and cultural norms that encourage entrepreneurship.
