Air raid sirens sounded in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv on Saturday, February 28, after Israel launched what its defense minister described as a preventative missile strike against Iran.The Israeli military said it activated sirens across multiple areas “to prepare the public for the possibility of missiles being launched toward Israel” in retaliation.
Officials also announced that schools nationwide would be closed, the public was instructed to work from home, and public gatherings were banned.
