Dolly Parton is lending her name to a new cause: advancing pediatric health care in her home state. The East Tennessee Children’s Hospital announced Thursday that it will now be known as Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital.

00:13And now the Grammy-winning country music superstar is lending her name to a new cause,

00:21The East Tennessee Children's Hospital announced Thursday that it will now be known as Dolly Parton Children's Hospital.
00:27The hospital did not share how much Parton donated, but its CEO said her support would ensure
00:32every child who walks through our doors receives the treatment they deserve.
00:36The musician's philanthropy efforts have often focused on supporting children and families.
00:40In 1988, she created the Dollywood Foundation to decrease the high school dropout rate in her hometown.
00:46In 1995, she launched her Imagination Library Initiative,
00:49which sends three million free books every month to children whose parents request them.
00:54And in 2020, she donated $1 million to Vanderbilt University's Medical Center for Research
00:59that helps produce Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine.
01:03Plus, her charitable foundation provides numerous college scholarships and also offers disaster relief.
