In this video, Kesha honors her very special connection with Dolly Parton at a concert just hours after the country star's death. The "Tik Tok" singer's mother, Pebe Sebert, co-wrote "Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You," which Parton popularized in a hit 1980 cover. Kesha later sang it as a duet with Parton on the pop star's 2017 album "Rainbow," which was made while she was involved in a highly publicized legal battle with music producer Dr. Luke.

00:00I come from a long lineage of songwriters and before I was born my mom
00:07actually wrote a song for Dolly Parton and that song, that song bought us a house
00:15like a roof. That song put me through school and and when I was making my
00:24album Rainbow, Dolly Parton, Dolly Parton sang my mom's song with me so I'm singing
00:35my mom's song that she wrote for Dolly Parton with Dolly Parton. I was making that
00:41album in the middle of a very scary litigation and I was in the Me Too
00:49movement and and having such a legendary woman do this song with me and stand
01:01beside me. It made me really feel like God was on my side. That's how it feels working
01:11with Dolly Parton. So in honor of her incredible legacy and her beautiful life, I'd
01:21like to sing the song that my mom wrote for her.
