00:29not be revealed, asked that his voice be altered for his own security.

01:07rule and failure to fix the nation's ailing economy.
01:10But they didn't stop there.
01:12Iranian security forces also stormed hospitals and arrested wounded protesters in response
01:17to the unrest in an all-out assault on healthcare facilities captured in more than a dozen videos
01:22verified by the AP.
01:24As agents arrested doctors and intimidated staff, the healthcare workers say their number
01:29one priority was protecting patients, even going so far as to falsely classify the diagnoses
01:34of the injured protesters.
01:36There was also a lot of cases with a gunshot to the abdomen, which we simply identified
01:43as abdominal pain.
01:44There was one patient that had vaccinated gunshots to the genital parts, which we simply identified
01:52as urology and admitted them to the urology board after negotiating with urology residents.
01:59Iran has denied the mistreatment of patients, but a source monitoring the government's action
02:03against healthcare staff told the AP that at least 79 healthcare professionals have been
02:08detained since the January crackdown, and that many still face charges related to providing
02:13medical care for the protesters, including one facing the death penalty for the crime of
02:18batting.
