00:02Miniature tractors and bales of hay.
00:05A new discovery for these Parisian children.
00:08The Salon de l'agriculture gives them the opportunity to meet farmers from all over France.
00:14It's a wonderful introduction to the world of farming.
00:17It's so important for children to have contact with nature.
00:21It makes me want to take him to educational farms again.
00:28But one animal conspicuous by their absence are cows.
00:32Due to the recent outbreak of lumpy skin disease,
00:35the lack of cattle has also impacted the number of visitors to the fair this year,
00:40leaving organisers having to find creative ways of replicating one of its most popular guests.
00:46It's hard to milk a plastic cow, but with a little more practice it should be fine.
00:53We want to pass on the values of French agriculture to our children, the soil, the heritage.
01:00We think it's important.
01:04In an increasingly ageing agricultural world with an average age of over 50,
01:08the sector is aiming to raise awareness of the profession among young people.
01:13If we can give them a taste for learning with future farmers, but also future bakers and millers,
01:20all the children leave with a smile on their faces. They're all happy.
01:26As the Salon de l'agriculture comes to an end for this year,
01:30it has enabled young city dwellers to learn more about rural France.
01:34And maybe one day, some of them will become farmers too,
01:37and may even exhibit here at the farming show.
01:40We are going to spend full time in the farming show.
01:40Good afternoon.
