00:00Ryan, Kellan, you've done a lot in sidecar and you've done a lot at the TT, but does this mean
00:06a lot to you?
00:07Oh yeah, absolutely. To be crowned it again, it's to the sports team of the year.
00:14It's a shame we can't have the rest of the team with us, but it means a massive amount to
00:18all of us as a team.
00:19It's an incredible achievement.
00:21Yeah, and it's one of them things, isn't it, where you come to events like these and you've done great
00:26things in the sport,
00:27but what you've noticed on the stage is alongside some of these guys here.
00:31I look around, there's a pool of talent that I couldn't comprehend.
00:34I look down there and I go, you...
00:37How are you guys so fit and healthy?
00:40So for you guys, it must be a big, big honour.
00:42Yeah, absolutely. I mean, the athletes around in that room there, there's some incredible people, runners,
00:48it's amazing, all aspects of sports, you know, it just shows what the Ireland actually has.
00:54It does.
00:54And, yeah, to be able to do what we do, it takes a lot of training, a lot of dedication
01:00from not just us, but the team as well.
01:03So, you know, it is hard work.
01:05And I can tell it's hard work. I wouldn't want to be the one to do it.
01:08And all eyes now are on TG2026. I think it's less than 100 days now.
01:13I think it's 90 days.
01:15How much preparation goes into it now? Are you already thinking about it? Are you already putting the work in?
01:20Oh dear. We've been putting the work in since...
01:24Since TT.
01:25Since race two, TT.
01:27Funny enough, I just got off the boat this morning from the engineers, so that's where I've been.
01:32So, yeah, preparation's well underway for that one.
01:35And what's the plan with the TT? What's the hope? What's the plan?
01:38Well, the hope and the plan is always the same. It's always to be in the top step again on
01:42both races.
01:43And just chase. Like, we're in a game where we want to beat ourselves all the time.
01:50You know, we have the best in the world in our sport.
01:54But, you know, if they beat us, I'll accept it.
01:58But as long as I can beat myself and every time I go, I'm happy with that.
02:02And you know when you guys were watching the bikes growing up and watching the sidecars,
02:06you must have seen them fly past at speed and you must have thought,
02:10there can't be a way that I can be the best at that.
02:13And yet you are the best at that, at the hardest course in the world.
02:15How big is that for you guys?
02:17Oh, it's a dream come true.
02:18You know, as growing up, watching the old man do it,
02:21and we were a massive support of my dad when he was doing it.
02:24And, you know, for us to be at that, it still doesn't sink in most days,
02:29you know, what you've actually done and what you can do and what you're at.
02:32But, you know, you are at the top of the game.
02:37If you can win here, I'm a strong believer, I love all sidecar racing in general,
02:40and Grand Prix racing and road racing and short circuit, but the TT is it.
02:45And for us as brothers to stand on the top step together on that,
02:49it's a dream come true.
02:50Exactly. And just finally then, people always talk about, and you must be sick of it,
02:53the dangers of it.
02:54People always say, bloody hell, are you sure?
02:57What a risk and all this.
02:58Does that just not even come into it for you guys?
03:00Or is it a concern as well?
03:01Is it a big thing?
03:02Obviously, it's human nature.
03:03You do think about the dangers, but, you know,
03:06maybe that's what separates us from being normal.
03:09You know, we can put that to the back of our minds and get on with the job, really.
03:14And we're very lucky to be both driven for it.
03:17And yeah, so we're looking forward to 2020.
03:19I can't wait to watch you both on the top step this coming TT.
03:22I'll be there with a beer in hand.
03:24Thank you very much, boys.
03:24Cheers.
03:25Thank you very much.
03:25Cheers.
03:25Cheers.
03:26Enjoy.
