00:00What does it take to compete in a world where beauty is defined by the glamour of perfection?
00:08Hi everyone! I am Andrea Endisho and I will be your host for today's episode of Straight Drumpy Expert!
00:37The Great Flores started over 30 years ago. When we started, it was what we call the backyard.
00:44So we started our training in our garage. Our first venture was when we fielded a candidate in our town's
00:51beauty pageant.
00:52We went national, we fielded our candidates to a national pageant which was Benibining Pilipinas 1996.
01:00So training camps hone the potentials of our queens. That's why they shine in international pageants.
01:08With us today is a handful of beauties because today tuturuan sila ni Tito Roch ng proper pasarela.
01:16But before anything else, Tito Roch, ano nga ba ang pasarela?
01:19Well, pasarela yung tinatawag natin na catwalk. It's the walk that you do on stage.
01:31We have the four Ps. First, the basic is the posture. Then from the posture, it develops into a queen
01:39deep voice.
01:40And then we go to the pasarela and the walk. Of course, the projection, the communication part of your walk.
01:52The hard work begins with the posture exercises. It's stages din siya.
01:57First stage, as you could see, is for the neck. Flexibility of the neck. Bakit siya importante?
02:02Because you don't just look at one point. You move your gaze from one side to the other side.
02:08Para rey na-rey na ang kalaw.
02:11Second is the back. So we have the back exercises.
02:15Kasi yung back natin connotes or nagpapakita siya ng how confident you are.
02:20Kasi pag hindi ka confident, nagsaslam ka.
02:23Next would be for our legs.
02:26In pageantry, we know how to balance our weight in just one leg.
02:31Pag nagta-transition tayo ng steps or even poses.
03:06One of the notable queens from Kagandahang Flores, Lara Quigaman, 2005,
03:12Vea Rosa Chaco, 2013, Karen Galman, the very first Filipina Miss Intercontinental,
03:18Samantha Bernardo, first owner-up during that year in 2020 in Miss Grand International,
03:23two Miss Globe winners, Maricar Balagtas in 2001, and Marine Montaigne in 2021.
03:30For the third, it's the Pasarela.
03:32Para ba cemento yung brand mo, who you are, your personality.
03:36Diyan papasok ang projection.
03:38It comes together.
03:39Dapat, for you to be able to own your walk.
03:42Parang natatandaan ko, alam na alam mo na yan.
03:45So, pwede mo bang ipakita sa aming lahat?
03:48Okay.
03:49Host out, beauty queen in.
03:51Okay.
03:52One, two, three, down.
04:04Oh, diba?
04:20Now, gagawin na ng ating mga trainees ang third and fourth, which is the actual Pasarela and, of course, the
04:27projection.
04:43Aside from the physical characteristics that made them win was their drive and determination to really excel and win over
04:52challenges in their pageantry journey, in their international pageants.
04:57So, training camps hone the potentials of our queens.
05:02Now that we are done with the Pasarela, we are moving on to one of the most important parts of
05:08a pageant.
05:08Of course, alam natin yan, ang hair and makeup.
05:12Marami tayong mga looks dyan.
05:14Pero ano nga ba ang perfect when it comes to pageantry?
05:27Sa isang makeup application, it's very important na mag-start tayo for a good prep.
06:16Kasi kailangan po talaga, it's required for them to know how to apply their own makeup,
06:21especially sa mga everyday events kasi not all the time, magkakaroon po ng glam tea.
07:01So here's the final look. Ito po ang aking take sa everyday makeup look for a pageant beauty queen.
07:09As a beauty queen, we meet so many different types of people.
07:13And so it's important to be able to carry different types of look.
07:17And the look that I have on today is perfect for an everyday.
07:21It makes me feel confident and just ready to take on the day as a beauty queen.
07:25One, two, three, four, four, four, five, four, five, four, four, five, four, five, four, five, five, four, six, one,
07:37five, six, one.
07:38We're gonna transition it into glam makeup.
07:41In the next episode of Straight from the Expert, we will reveal the final makeup look at syempre ang pinaka
07:50-inaabangan ng lahat, the most thrilling part of a pageant, the Q&A portion.
