00:02Japan's Fair Trade Commission raided Microsoft Japan's offices on Wednesday,
00:06according to CNBC. A source with direct knowledge told Reuters the investigation
00:11is examining whether the company improperly restricted Azure customers from using rival
00:15cloud services. The commission is investigating whether Microsoft Japan set conditions that
00:20limited access to popular services on other cloud platforms, effectively shutting out
00:25competitors. Japan's FTC declined to comment. A Microsoft Japan spokesperson said the company
00:31is fully cooperating with the JFTC's requests. Japan's antitrust authorities will reportedly
00:36also seek clarification from Microsoft's parent company in the United States. Regulators in
00:41Britain, Europe, the U.S., and Brazil are separately examining Microsoft's cloud computing practices.
