00:09Well, there's a specific phase of sleep called REM sleep.
00:13And during REM sleep, this is when we are assembling memory.
00:16So this podcast, for example, let's say that your listeners learn something new on this podcast.
00:23That conscious learning that they did during the day, when they go to sleep tonight, during REM phase, it will
00:30be married with what's called their hippocampus, where we store memory.
00:34So the brain will actually create these connections to make a learned memory.
00:39So if you're not getting good REM sleep, you are not retaining information.
