00:00Today we're continuing training with Garvey our nine-month-old English Springer Spaniel and he's
00:06being trained onto ignitable liquids for fire investigations. We can train our dogs to 0.5 of
00:11a micro litre of any of the ignitable liquids that we train our dogs on. They're part of the arsenal
00:16that we have in fire investigation in our unit and they're utilized whenever we don't know why
00:21that fire has started or how it has started. Today we're going to be imprinting Garvey onto a new
00:27odor which is kerosene and we have them set up over there under those trees. Hopefully once Garvey
00:33has registered those training aids up there with kerosene the hope is that that is enough to register
00:40in his brain that kerosene is an odor that he's interested in and will get rewarded on and when
00:45we bring him down here what we'd love to see is for him to come over and have a look
00:49at this pine
00:50needle here because that has kerosene impregnated in on this bend here but it's without the training
00:56aid so that if we know that he comes here registers that there and then you know we'd love to
01:00see
01:01him indicate
01:10where is it get on it good boy find it oh good boy mate yes that's a good dog good
01:20boy what you
01:21get but what you get there get it get it get it get it yes that's a good dog good
