00:00The Justice Department has filed a lawsuit against New Jersey Governor Mikey Sherrill over her
00:04executive order aimed at blocking ice raids on state property. Attorney General Pam Bondi slammed
00:09the Garden State Governor saying in a statement, quote, federal agents are risking their lives to
00:14keep New Jersey citizens safe. And yet New Jersey's leaders are enacting policies designed to obstruct
00:20and endanger law enforcement. Bondi went on to promise that New Jersey's sanctuary policies
00:25will not stand. Sherrill's EO specifically directs state agencies to block the feds from entering
00:31non-public areas of state property, but does not bar them from any areas that are open to the general
00:37public. Now, the biggest issue for the feds is that the order would bar them from accessing New Jersey
00:42jails to arrest illegal immigrants before they're released back onto the streets. And I should note,
00:47this has been a key strategy for border czar Tom Homan. Governor Sherrill was asked about the lawsuit
00:53on Tuesday and fired back with this. What the federal government needs to be focused on right
00:58now instead of attacking states like New Jersey working to keep people safe is actually training
01:03their ICE agents with some modicum of training like any law enforcement officer in the state of New
01:08Jersey would have so that they can operate better and more safely.
