A major rescue operation unfolded in southern Taiwan on Tuesday after a pod of 11 pygmy killer whales washed ashore on a beach in Pingtung County. At least 60 rescuers, including coast guard personnel and volunteers, rushed to the scene. Seven surviving whales were successfully released back into the ocean.
