00:00Terrifying cartel violence is spreading across Mexico after the country's military took out
00:05the notorious cartel boss known as El Mencho. At least 20 of Mexico's 31 states have seen
00:12violent clashes since the death of Numesio Oseguera Cervantes, the head of the Jalisco
00:17New Generation cartel. As of Monday, at least 30 people had died as a result of the bloodshed.
00:23U.S. citizens, particularly those in and around the resort town of Puerto Vallarta,
00:26continue to be told to shelter in place, though long lines of tourists trying to flee have been
00:31seen at area airports. And we're also learning more about that Mexican military operation that
00:36took out El Mencho and sparked all of this brutality. It's something out of a spy novel.
00:41Intelligence agencies, including American ones, were able to help locate this elusive drug kingpin
00:46by tracking one of his lovers and a man close to her as she traveled to El Mencho's secluded resort
00:53compound. The girlfriend left, but El Mencho and his men stayed. The Mexican military then swooped in,
00:59a gunfight and a chase through the nearby woods then ensued. Four cartel members were killed,
01:04three others critically injured. After the raid, it was revealed that President Trump quietly convinced
01:09Mexico to hand over nearly 100 cartel leaders, including El Mencho's brother, to stand trial here
01:15in the U.S. The Justice Department says any who are convicted will serve their sentences here
01:20and will then be deported back to their country of origin.
01:24Is California Governor Gavin Newsom racist? That is what some critics are saying after an incredibly
01:30awkward chat that Newsom had on Sunday night with Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens.
01:35I'm like you. I'm no better than you. You know, I'm a 960 SAT guy.
01:45And, you know, and I'm not trying to offend anyone, you know, trying to act all there if
01:49you got 940. But literally a 960 SAT guy, I cannot, you've never seen me read a speech
02:00because I cannot read a speech.
02:03Newsom went on to discuss the dyslexia he struggled with and how he lives with it today.
02:07But some called his comments delivered to a predominantly Black audience racist.
02:11Senator Ted Cruz called the moment, quote, the soft bigotry of low expectations.
02:16Nicki Minaj, who has recently become a President Trump stan, posted on X, quote,
02:20his way of bonding with Black people is to tell them how stupid he is and that he can't read.
02:25And Fox News host Sean Hannity said that Newsom, quote, thinks a 960 SAT makes him like Black
02:30Americans. Let that sink in. Well, that last one was one dig too many for Newsom,
02:35who fired back in a profanity-laced response on X. I'll clean it up a bit. But, quote,
02:40You didn't give a bleep about the President of the United States of America posting an ape
02:46video of President Obama or calling African nations s-holes, but you're going to call me
02:51racist for talking about my lifelong struggle with dyslexia? Spare me your fake effing outrage.
02:59Republican Congressman Tony Gonzalez was a shoo-in for re-election to his Texas district,
03:05including getting the endorsement of President Trump. But a truly bizarre scandal is threatening
03:09to derail his campaign just a few weeks before the March 3rd primary. Back in 2024, Gonzalez sent a
03:16wildly inappropriate text to an aide, who was married, by the way, that read, quote,
03:21Send me a sexy pic. The aide, Regina Santos Aviles, replied to the congressman's lewd request, quote,
03:27This is going too far, boss. So how long have you thought I was this hot? The back and forth
03:32got
03:32more intense from there. Now, the aide eventually appeared to shut things down. Quote,
03:37This is too far, Tony. Go to sleep. Are you sure you're sober? 16 months later, Santos Aviles set
03:43herself on fire in her own backyard and died as a result. Seemingly straightforward, but the post was
03:49able to obtain the police report from Santos Aviles' death. The responding officer that night
03:54says that she told him, while authorities were trying to save her, that she burned herself because
03:58her husband was having an affair with her best friend. A second officer claimed the victim said her
04:03husband was gay and having an affair with her best friend, who is a man. The husband, Adrian Aviles,
04:08rejects all of that. Now, Aviles contends that his now-deceased wife was mentally stable until the
04:14texting with her boss fiasco, and it all went downhill after that. Still, the police report cites
04:20references to her mental health struggles when she was a teen. Regardless of what prompted her to take
04:26her own life, her former boss is still fighting his re-election battle and claiming no wrongdoing.
04:32On Sunday, he wrote on X, quote,
04:34During my six years in Congress, not a single formal complaint has been levied against my office.
04:39Now, days away from an election, coordinated political attacks reign in. It won't work.
