00:00Liza Minnelli is claiming she was forced to use a wheelchair at the 2022 Oscars when Lady Gaga, like, basically,
00:05like, that was, like, Lady Gaga's era of just, like, wheeling people everywhere, like, Tony Bennett, Liza Minnelli, like, Evan,
00:10it was what she was doing.
00:11No, it was kind of her thing at the time, it was.
00:14And she was just saying jazz, like, boop, boop, boop, boop, boop.
00:17Liza's plan was to sit in a director's chair, very Oscars, very, you know, of the award ceremony.
00:23And then she says she was inexplicably ordered, not even asked to sit in a wheelchair or not appear at
00:27all.
00:28She was told it was because of her age and for safety reasons, because she might slip out of the
00:32chair, which she's like, that's bulls**t.
00:34And apparently, Lady Gaga insisted she would not go on stage with Liza until she was in the wheelchair.
00:42I don't know how to process this, because I just, I see Lady Gaga not doing that.
00:50I feel like Lady Gaga would support Liza Minnelli's dreams.
00:53And so basically what Liza was saying is that Gaga was all too pleased to kind of act as the
01:00savior and the hero and the caretaker of Liza on stage.
01:04Because didn't something happen where Gaga had to step in?
01:07Because the director's chair is obviously higher up than a wheelchair.
01:10So the frickin' producers, I guess I'll never win an Oscar.
01:14The producers of the Oscars were idiots, not realizing Liza was now in a, like, lower to the ground.
01:19So she couldn't read the prompter, so when she was trying to read what she was supposed to say, she
01:23couldn't see it.
01:23So she fumbled, which made people think, like, oh, Liza's having, like, you know, a senior moment.
01:29And Lady Gaga goes, I got you!
01:32And, like, hugs her.
01:34Not, wait, you really did do her jazz accent very well, I will say.
01:37I got you, Liza!
01:38Hey, Liza, why don't we tell them what we did back in the day?
01:40Like, Gaga, what?
01:41Do you know what's really, do you know what's crazy is, first of all, hearing this account from Liza as
01:47she, you know, recalls it and remembers it and she claims the situation to be.
01:51Because I remember watching that in the moment being like, oh, my God, this is, like, so heartbreaking.
01:56And it's so heartwarming that Lady Gaga would step in to be so, you know, protective and helpful and just,
02:04you know, she's taking care of Liza.
02:05And it just, it did make me think of Lady Gaga as a hero.
02:09But it seems like, I mean, not really seems like, it is what it is.
02:13Liza is sort of making these claims to build a case that Gaga was in on it and she wanted
02:19to look like the hero that night.
02:20Like, love for sale!
02:23I do love that Liza leaves everybody with this piece of advice, which I think is very good advice.
02:29Because Gaga then heard that Liza Minnelli was uncomfortable with all the requests, apparently.
02:33And Gaga goes, hey, are you okay?
02:36And Liza just goes, I'm a big fan.
02:40Because she learned this lesson from Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli, her parents.
02:44She said, at a moment of high stress, you stay gracious.
02:46I love that and that's very bold and brave and mature to do.
02:51It's not easy.
