Bears rookie wide receiver Rome Odunze describes his 45-yard catch from Caleb Williams and also his toe-tap mistake at the back of the end zone.
Transcript
00:04Yeah, so I had a corner there.
00:06I should have ended up taking it high with a defender.
00:08He was playing flat foot.
00:09I tried to get underneath just to create a passing lane for Caleb,
00:11but I wasn't able to do it in the first window.
00:13So I scrambled a little bit.
00:15You know, Caleb did his magic back there
00:17and placed the ball exactly where it needed to be.
00:19You know, I was there to make the catch.
00:20So, oh, man, it's pretty unreal, honestly.
00:22You know, I just watched it back.
00:24Man, he's throwing off a one leg, you know,
00:25putting it on my outside shoulder.
00:27It's like, whew, yeah, it's magical what he's doing back there in that backfield.
00:32So he's special.
00:34Man, it was just a mistake by me.
00:35You know, I thought I was Tony Toetat back there.
00:38I thought I had, you know, at least a foot.
00:40You know, you see me, I was, like, confident with it too.
00:42But, you know, a mistake.
00:45You know, I got to know where I'm at on the field.
00:47Got to have an awareness to be able to do that.
00:48And, you know, something that, you know, I'll learn from it.
00:51You're going to see me catching passes in the back of the end zone every day
00:55for a little bit so I get one right.
