00:00Commuters in Liverpool are facing disruption as the escalators outside Moorfield Station have closed again.
00:07After reopening last February, they were meant to be fully operational, following lengthy repairs delayed by faulty parts.
00:15A notice has now been placed by Liverpool Council, which has managed the escalators since 1971.
00:22While engineers carry out further maintenance, passengers can use ramps or stairs.
00:28The closure follows earlier damage caused by water ingress, misuse and antisocial behaviour.
00:35Replacement chains had to be specially procured from Germany.
00:39Council officials apologise for the inconvenience.
