We're still not over the Star Wars: The Clone Wars finale.
Transcript
00:00Now, not all unforgettable Star Wars occurrences live long in the memory because of the joyful feelings you remember experiencing
00:07during a first watch, or even play.
00:09Sometimes the sheer amount of trauma and heartbreak caused by a rather distressing moment is so powerful,
00:17it's honestly difficult to ever fully let go of just how devastating, terrifying, or shocking certain scenes really were in
00:25this popular franchise.
00:25I'm Gareth, this is WhatCultureStarWars, and here are 10 Star Wars moments that will haunt you forever.
00:33Number 10, I Can't Swim Andor
00:35The first season of Tony Gilroy's Andor is the sort of show you simply cannot take your eyes off for
00:41a second.
00:42A major reason for that is the many complex and utterly captivating figures that Rogue One A Star Wars Story
00:48prequel series focuses on throughout,
00:50with perhaps the most engaging of the lot being the Narkina 5 floor manager Kino Loy.
00:55Played by Andy Serkis in a surprise return to the galaxy far, far away.
01:00Going from being a rather stern prisoner looking to get their work done as efficiently as possible until the point
01:06he would eventually be released,
01:07to a valuable ally of Cassian Andor once it became clear that none of the prisoners were actually getting freed,
01:14Loy goes on quite the journey during his few appearances.
01:17That's what makes the revelation that he can't swim, just as the inmate's freedom is finally just to swim away,
01:23such an upsetting moment.
01:26One that fans are still haunted by, even with it being confirmed by the actor that Loy thankfully didn't die
01:31here.
01:31It was an incredibly painful emotional gut punch for viewers to see Kino work so hard to help his fellow
01:38prisoners escape the facility,
01:39only to stop at the last hurdle.
01:42And the words, I can't swim, will now forever leave a pit in the stomachs of those who put themselves
01:47through the whole Narkina 5 ordeal.
01:50Now I've got a question for you, what line hits you right in the feels every time you watch Star
01:54Wars?
01:55You let me know in the comments section down below.
01:57Number 9, Grievous on a Terrifying Rampage, Star Wars Clone Wars.
02:02The General Grievous who made his debut in the Star Wars Clone Wars animated micro series was an absolute menace,
02:10and a terrifying one at that.
02:11This is perhaps best shown during a sequence that likely gave many a youngster a few nightmares involving Grievous
02:18trying to get his many hands on Chancellor Palpatine on Coruscant.
02:22As Jedi Master Shark T tried her best to protect the eventual Emperor,
02:25the relentless cyborg proceeded to brutally carve, boot, and stomp his way through the clones and guards tasked with stopping
02:33him.
02:34And with viewers knowing precisely what the Jedi killing force was capable of,
02:39as the slashes and screams grew louder the closer he got to the Jedi protectors during this sequence,
02:44the fear was real.
02:45Grievous then refusing to give up his pursuit and scrambling down the side of the building while the Chancellor travels
02:52via elevator.
02:53Again, felt like something ripped out of a damn horror movie.
02:56It didn't matter how bravely the likes of Shaak T and Pal's fought,
03:00there was simply no stopping this mechanical demon.
03:02And his vicious rampage here is something that still haunts those who grew up on the underrated show to this
03:08day.
03:08Hell, even in 2024, first-time viewers of the Genndy Tartakovsky show will no doubt be shook by the unstoppable
03:15monster too.
03:16You know, if they forget about the far less threatening version of The General seen in subsequent movies and TV
03:20shows.
03:21Number 8, Jango Fett loses his head to Episode 2, Attack of the Clones.
03:26Now, this sudden decapitation didn't just haunt one poor youngster.
03:30It did the same to those watching Episode 2, Attack of the Clones, too.
03:34As the Jedi arrived to help Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Padme Amidala within the Petranaki arena,
03:40a showdown or two between the clone template Jango Fett and the force-wielding warriors was inevitable.
03:46Sure enough, viewers got to witness Boba Fett's father gun down one Jedi Master, R.I.P. Coleman Trebo,
03:53before resuming his fight with Mace Windu as the battle intensified.
03:57It was here when one of the most harrowing and unforgettable kills in Star Wars history went down,
04:03though, with Jango learning the hard way exactly how powerful and skilled the greatest champion of the Jedi Order truly
04:09was.
04:10Unable to soar away due to his jetpack being damaged by a reek attack,
04:15Jango's head was horrifically separated from his body with one swift, merciless lightsaber swing.
04:21His head is even seen tumbling out of the helmet if you keep an eye on its shadow.
04:24Yep, that is grim.
04:25This is all then eventually followed by the equally haunting image of Jango's devastated son
04:31holding his dad's Mandalorian helmet in his hands.
04:34It's heavy and somewhat grisly stuff.
04:37Especially for a PG-rated movie, that cruel, life-changing moment understandably traumatized poor Boba,
04:44and it's a shockingly cold-blooded act viewers of all ages will never be able to forget either.
04:49Number 7, The Wampus Cave, Episode 5, The Empire Strikes Back
04:53There's nothing quite like a good old-fashioned practical monster leaving you well and truly petrified
04:59of going to sleep with the lights off.
05:00And that's an experience just about every single spooked kid likely went through
05:05after they first sat down to watch a little movie by the name of Episode 5, The Empire Strikes Back,
05:11of course.
05:11After being attacked by the furry white beast known as a Whomper,
05:15Luke Skywalker finds himself hanging upside down within its cave,
05:19with the carnivorous animal seen chomping away at our hero's tauntaun.
05:23The whole intense scene plays out like it belongs within a monster movie.
05:27The fear felt as Luke desperately squirmed and attempted to use the Force to retrieve his trusty lightsaber was palpable,
05:34with the Whomper creeping ever closer and threatening to also gobble up the son of Anakin Skywalker on Hoth.
05:39Thankfully, Luke was able to cut his way out of trouble before it was too late.
05:43However, that still didn't stop youngsters from looking over their shoulders during their next snow day,
05:48fearful of being similarly jumped by the terrifying creature George Lucas and Irving Kirshner first unleashed all those decades ago.
05:55That these scenes still continue to haunt new viewers is a testament to the incredible effects work
06:02used to bring both the original Whomper puppet and the suit seen in the 1997 Special Edition to screens.
06:09Number 6, The Ants and Uncle Skeletons, Episode 4, A New Hope.
06:13Sticking with those original trilogy scenes that were scorched into many an innocent child's brains
06:19after their first visit to the galaxy far, far away,
06:231977's Star Wars contained one of the darkest deaths you'll ever find in a U-rated movie.
06:28After learning the apparent truth about his father and being offered the chance to learn the ways of the Force
06:34with Obi-Wan Kenobi,
06:35but initially turning it down, the group stumble on a blasted sandcrawler.
06:40Luke Skywalker then realizes that the stormtroopers who did this,
06:43the ones looking for the droids accompanying them, would likely be heading to his home next.
06:48He was right too.
06:49By the time he made it back to the last homestead though, it was too late.
06:53The stormtroopers had already burned it and his family to a crisp.
06:56But just to really hammer home how barbaric these Imperial soldiers could be,
07:01George Lucas shockingly threw out the charred skeletal remains of the farm boys,
07:05Aunt Beru and Uncle Owen for Luke to discover.
07:08It's still an absolutely grim and shocking visual to watch back almost 50 years later,
07:14and it will forever remain one of the most unexpectedly haunting images in Star Wars history.
07:20Cheers for checking out this WhatCultureStarWars list that will haunt you forever!

07:27Number 5, Thorn's Last Stand Star Wars The Clone Wars
07:31Though many a clone ended up meeting their end throughout the animated Star Wars The Clone Wars series,
07:37the death of one particular trooper hit a little harder than most.
07:41No, I'm not talking about fives, yes that was very sad, but we're talking about Thorn here.
07:45During the Season 6 episode Crisis of the Heart,
07:48Commander Thorn and a garrison of shock troopers accompanied Padme Amidala and Rush Clovis to Scipio.
07:54Their mission was simple, they needed to keep the two safe during their trip.
07:58That soon became a difficult task though.
08:01After Count Dooku opted to launch an invasion of the planet,
08:04as he attempted to frame Clovis and make it look like the new head of the banking clan was launching
08:09a separatist takeover.
08:10Sensing there was little they could do for Amidala,
08:13Thorn contacted her via Conlink and told her to find a way off-world.
08:17His troops were then completely surrounded by droids.
08:20Even as the soldiers were being picked off one by one,
08:24viewers still hoped that the brave clones would find some way to overcome the odds.
08:29But alas, it wasn't to be.
08:31In one of the most haunting final stands in all of Star Wars,
08:35a Commander Thorn who'd watched all of his brothers be violently massacred bravely went full Boromir,
08:41refusing to stop fighting even after being blasted by the enemy.
08:45In the end though, the numbers were just too great,
08:47and the clone was shot to death in surprisingly brutal fashion by the clankers.
08:52But his brave actions here and the impactful image of his gunned-down body being surrounded by droids
08:58were both things that Clone Wars lovers won't forget any time soon.
09:03Number 4, Then You Will Die, Star Wars Rebels
09:06Joining the likes of both Clone Wars shows as an animated Star Wars series
09:11capable of unleashing its fair share of haunting visuals and moments,
09:16Star Wars Rebels knew precisely how to hit you right in the feels too.
09:19Season 2's emotional finale, Twilight of the Apprentice, did exactly that and then some,
09:26with this being the episode when Ahsoka Tano finally came face-to-face with the Sith Lord her master had
09:31become.
09:32It's during that sequence when arguably the most affecting and unforgettable moment of the entire show occurs,
09:39outside of perhaps the death of beloved Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus of course,
09:43I'm still not over it,
09:44with the two powerful Force users clashing at the Sith Temple on Malachor.
09:48The truth she suspected was finally confirmed as she cracked open his iconic helmet with her lightsaber.
09:54Despite briefly showing a flicker of the Sky Guy she once knew though,
09:59Darth Vader's response to her saying she will not leave him this time
10:02is as haunting today as it was back when the episode debuted in 2016.
10:07Then you will die.
10:09She's thankfully saved by Ezra Bridger in the World Between Worlds before Vader can make good on his words.
10:15But the damage was already done.
10:17Viewers knew Vader was still a few years away from returning to the light side of course,
10:22but for a second there they couldn't help but hope that Tano of all people could remind him who he
10:27still was deep down.
10:28That shot of his yellow rage-filled eye burning a hole through his former apprentice's head here,
10:34will never not haunt heartbroken fans' minds,
10:38even in the wake of their less devastating reunion in the Ahsoka series.
10:423. Chewbacca Cries For Han Solo Episode 7 The Force Awakens
10:46As far as traumatic Star Wars moments go,
10:50they don't come much more painful than watching one of the iconic original trilogy heroes being horrifically murdered,
10:55by his own son no less.
10:57Though fans did have a bad feeling about this potentially being Harrison Ford's last hurrah
11:02coming into Episode 7 The Force Awakens.
11:04I mean, he had been trying to get Han Solo killed for years, don't forget.
11:07That still didn't change the fact that this one hurt then, and still does now.
11:11I could be the thing that made Kylo Ren's fatal stabbing of his own legendary father
11:15the sequel trilogy's most haunting scene wasn't even the death itself though.
11:20It was Solo's broken, best mate, upsetting response to it,
11:24Forced to watch on from afar, a powerless Chewbacca can only let out a roar of anguish
11:30as he witnessed his long-time pal perish before his very eyes.
11:34He'd at least fire off a shot at Ren, get to wipe out a few incoming stormtroopers,
11:38and help the Resistance blow up Starkiller Base in the aftermath.
11:41But that still didn't bring Han back, did it?
11:43It also didn't erase the soul-piercing sound of Chewie's pained cries from the minds of fans
11:49utterly moved by this whole sequence.
11:51It brings a damn tear to your eye just thinking about it almost a decade later.
11:55Wait, what, a de- oh my god, we're getting old.
11:57Number 2, Vader Arrives, Jedi Fallen Order
12:00It's not just those Star Wars shows and movies that can leave a mark on fans.
12:05Video games set in this galaxy far, far away have been known to unleash the odd,
12:10completely jaw-dropping and memorable moment too.
12:13Jedi Fallen Order undoubtedly contains one such sequence,
12:17with the conclusion of Cal Kestis' showdown with the second sister Trilla within the Fortress Inquisitorius,
12:23leading to the return of a terrifying legend.
12:26Just as Sia attempted to redeem her old Padawan Trilla,
12:30the unmistakable sound of Darth Vader's ominous breathing was soon heard.
12:36You could cut the tension with a lightsaber as some properly haunting music begun playing out,
12:41with players instantly sharing Cal's feeling of this not looking all that good.
12:45The way he coldly chopped down Trilla without hesitation was obviously shocking,
12:50but Vader's unrivaled presence before that murder alone
12:53was petrifying enough for Fallen Order fans to not forget in a hurry.
12:57Add in Cal and Sia being unable to keep this insurmountable cyborg down
13:02as he frighteningly refused to stop hunting them within the underwater building,
13:06and you have a Star Wars video game sequence that is just as distressing
13:09and haunting as anything you'll see on the big or small screen.
13:13Number 1, Burying the Clones, Star Wars The Clone Wars
13:17The hugely emotional finale to the seven-season ride that was Star Wars The Clone Wars
13:23didn't just unleash one truly haunting moment, it chucked out many.
13:27Just when fans had gotten over one traumatic visual,
13:30like watching Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex being fired at
13:33by their one-time 332nd company friends and brothers post-Order 66,
13:38Dave Filoni and the gang completely floored them with another.
13:41In the wake of managing to somehow avoid being killed by these brainwashed 501st troopers
13:46and escaping the Venator-class Star Destroyer they'd been travelling on
13:50before it crashed into a nearby moon,
13:52Tano and Rex then opted to bury some of the fallen soldiers.
13:56The image of Ahsoka looking out at the crowd of Helmet,
13:59many of them sporting her own facial markings,
14:02and remembering the brave clones who had been forced to betray the Jedi
14:06is an all-timer Star Wars moment,
14:09one that was only enhanced by Kevin Kynas' moving, burying the dead theme.
14:13Not done imprinting hugely powerful shots into the minds of viewers, though.
14:18The episode then ends with Darth Vader eventually discovering that same sight.
14:22Here, the one-time Anakin Skywalker picked up the lightsaber
14:25his former Padawan had left behind as a way of faking her own death,
14:28clocked Mori flying high above him,
14:31and ultimately walked away from one remaining 332nd helmet.
14:35The poignant final shot of Vader moving away from the world he left behind
14:40in the reflection of a single clone helmet,
14:43and all of the above moments ensured that victory and death
14:46was one of the most overwhelming experiences Star Wars fans had ever gone through,
14:51and one many never truly recovered from.
