The body of a Chinese national man who was feared drowned while swimming at Tanjung Rhu Beach, Langkawi, on Friday was found on Saturday morning (Feb 21).

00:01The body of a Chinese national feared drowned while swimming at Tanjungru Beach in Langkawi
00:06on Friday has been recovered.
00:09Langkawi Police Chief ACP Khairul Azhar Nuruddin said the body of 48-year-old Mingfei Lan from
00:16Shanghai, China was found by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force at around 9.45am on Saturday.
00:23Authorities said the victim, who was on holiday with his wife and son, had gone alone to swim
00:28towards Pulau Chabang at about 5.30pm on Friday.
00:33His son realised around 6pm that his father had not resurfaced and alerted the hotel management.
00:39A search operation was then launched by the Langkawi Fire and Rescue Station at around
00:459pm.
00:46The search resumed the following morning and found the victim lying face down in the water
00:51near Pulau Chabang, approximately 50 metres from where he was last seen.
00:56The body has been sent to Sultana Maliha Hospital in Langkawi for a post-mortem and the case
01:02has been classified as sudden death.
