00:00The Jalen Brown versus City of Beverly Hills drama isn't stopping anytime soon.
00:04Over NBA All-Star weekend, the Boston Celtics star hosted a private event in Beverly Hills
00:09connected to his brand. On February 14th, around 7 p.m., police showed up and shut the event down,
00:15initially saying that there were permit issues. The next day, the City of Beverly Hills issued
00:20a statement saying an event permit had been applied for and denied by the city due to previous
00:25violations associated with events at the address. Brown refuted that statement after Sunday's
00:30NBA All-Star game, saying he was offended by the statement Beverly Hills put out and that he
00:35knows how to follow the rules. He also added that he didn't need a permit because the owner of the
00:40house was a family friend. The city eventually admitted its original statement was inaccurate
00:45and that they take full accountability for the internal error. However, Brown responded publicly,
00:50saying the apology wasn't enough and the situation damaged his brand. He's now considering
00:55legal action against the city over how the shutdown was handled.
