00:00We're also doing the All-Star Showdown this season, which is different.
00:03We're bringing back some of our greatest artists from seasons past.
00:07Fighting for us for another spot in the finals.
00:10That's right.
00:13February 23rd, The Voice gets supercharged.
00:17It's the Battle of Champions for a reason.
00:19Oh, we love, truly, not just because she's here.
00:23We truly love having Kelly back.
00:25She brings such great energy, such great expertise.
00:27She also is really difficult to beat.
00:30I love that part.
00:31She's also, like, one of the best singers ever.
00:35You know what I was going to say?
00:36Look, I've toured with Adam.
00:37He's one of the greatest singers live.
00:39He is insane live.
00:40I have seen you, John, live.
00:41You are insane.
00:42The showmanship, the level of writing and your voice.
00:45It's so fun.
00:46Like, we were thinking about a song to sing all together,
00:49and there are so many different types of artists,
00:51it's kind of hard to pick a song.
00:52But I think all of us are based in soulfulness.
00:55It doesn't matter the genre.
00:56We all are soulful in whatever genre we happen to be singing in,
00:59and we all love playing in different genres.
01:01It's actually my favorite set of, like, coaches to work with in that sense,
01:06because it's like, I'm such a fan.
01:08The musical taste, I think, between the three of us is very cohesive.
01:11Yes.
01:11And I think it's not that we haven't shared tons in common with other coaches as well,
01:17but, like, this does feel like we come from a very similar place.
01:20Basically, everyone, be very excited for our coach performance.
01:24Yes, exactly.
01:24It's going to be nice.
01:25Be excited.
01:26Yeah.
01:28All-star showdown, baby.
01:29All-star showdown.
01:30You've got season one winner coming.
01:32Season one winner.
01:32The first winner.
01:33The OG.
01:34Jordan Smith, who...
01:36He's insane.
01:37...makes my heart explode with happiness.
01:39And he makes me want to quit.
01:41He makes me...
01:43There's a good example of someone who says better than me.
01:45He might be the favorite.
01:45Boy, he is so good.
01:47He might be the favorite.
01:48He's really good.
01:49I brought some wonderful artists back, but Jordan is definitely special.
01:54He is special.
01:55I mean, I think Jordan is a good...
01:57They're all special.
01:57I mean, if you've seen him live, some people are just walking around here
02:00with just a little extra special sauce than the rest.
02:02Like, he just...
02:03I was like, oh, you were anointed.
02:05He was.
02:06Yeah.
02:07Like, he is...
02:07But we do have great people.
02:09I will say, that's what's cool, too.
02:10We have people from the singer-songwriter.
02:12I've got a girl named Tom coming back that are...
02:13They're incredible.
02:14And I will say this.
02:15They are a competition for Jordan because there is nothing more special
02:18than finding that family harmony.
02:21It's beautiful.
02:22It's hard to...
02:23It's hard to top something that just...
02:25It collides the chemistry of those three singers.
02:27Two brothers is incredible.
02:28I was so jealous when you got them.
02:29Oh, my God.
02:30I love them.
02:31They're coming back.
02:31And Jay Coot's coming back, representing country music, which I love.
02:35He's one of my favorites that I have worked with afterwards.
02:37We did a duet that is, like, honestly one of my favorite duets I've ever recorded.
02:40We do have people coming back to really compete for our teams.
02:45Jordan is a good one.
02:46You got Mei-Lynn coming?
02:47Mei-Lynn's coming.
02:48And then Renzo's coming back.
02:49I don't know Renzo, so I'm excited.
02:50You don't know?
02:50Adam and I have a history with Renzo.
02:52I blocked Adam for Renzo, and it was a cause of constant consternation for Adam.
02:58Broke my heart.
02:58Broke my heart.
02:59You don't hear the word consternation enough.
03:02Some good words today, guys.
03:03Yeah.
03:04Way to go, Kiwi.
03:12For me, what's exciting, though, on my other show, on the talk show, like, I'm singing songs
03:16all the time, and so I'm always gearing up to perform.
03:19And this is fun because I get to play with other artists.
03:21I'm not in the front.
03:22Like, I get to actually play and be more in the background, and I really did miss that.
03:26My favorite part, Michael Bublé and I were talking about in rehearsals for the Knockouts,
03:30is this is my favorite part.
03:32The rehearsals, when you get to play with a song, it's so fun.
03:35And then also where they're coming from is musically very different, generally, than where I would go.
03:40So it's more interesting.
03:41I do songs all the time, like, on the talk show, so it's nice to switch it up for me,
03:46and I missed it.
03:47I always tell my artists that make the finale, like, even if you don't win, you got the same amount
03:51of TV performances
03:52That's what I say.
03:52That the winner got, like, you're getting all these opportunities.
03:56Let's make the most of it.
03:58Learn from this experience, and then parlay it into a career.
04:01And the biggest artist that ever was on this show did not win the show.
04:04Yeah, Morgan Wallen, yeah.
04:06We had as a mentor this year Jennifer Hudson, who did not win the show she was on.
04:09Yeah.
04:10And, you know, she's hosting a talk show.
04:12Has an Academy Award.
04:13She's an EGOT winner.
04:15She's doing all right.
04:16Yeah.
04:17Yeah.
04:17Winning is not everything, folks.
04:19Yeah.
04:19The Voice Battle of Champions, February 23rd on NBC and Peacock.
