00:18brad thomas who's always good for a pick or two or a prop or two here on the show or

00:24or maybe five while we look at it i can also see some best bets here on my little rundown

00:29me so i don't want to ruin them let's start first of all brad thanks for coming on happy friday

00:33you uh okay so charlotte had that nice run where they won a bunch of games but uh cleveland's the
00:39better team here there's six point favorites tonight at charlotte with a total of two thirty
00:44and a half seven p.m eastern start i know that cleveland has some serious aspirations for the
00:49playoffs and who knows with charlotte based on uh this new year they played better i guess we could
00:54say that do you have a lean or a pick on anything tonight and then throw me a prop if
00:58you got one
00:58to yeah i slightly lean the uh the cavaliers uh this team is just i think light years better in
01:05terms of talented talent the hornets have played some really good basketball like you said on that
01:09crazy good winning streak they're getting high quality production and they have three players
01:13who can get really hot at basically any moment in between ball knuppel and uh and miller
01:19but i just feel like this cavaliers team getting james harden now finally has another player that can
01:25facilitate and take a little of that scoring ownership off of uh donovan mitchell's shoulders
01:30i'm actually like a prop in this game a lot i like uh evan mobley over six and a half
01:35rebounds
01:36first of all he's hitting six straight games even the game where he had the uh minutes restriction
01:41now after getting the all-star break uh time to heal he's probably not gonna have a minutes
01:46restriction uh going against the hornets team that are already allowing about eight and a half
01:50rebounds to the power forward position which is 11th worst in the nba um has a pretty good matchup
01:56too um in in terms of rebounding uh with um but jared allen gonna have to take most of kalkbrenner
02:03uh out of the equation so evan mobley i thought that number was just really low it's around minus 114
02:11minus 114 as you see there folks take a quick screenshot of that so you got that
02:15all right so now the story in the nba has basically been one of the two teams we're going
02:21to discuss tonight dallas the other one i think utah uh league is is thinking of changing some rules
02:27here and i wonder this is my my betting question for you here brad if indeed the nba is serious
02:33about
02:34trying to avoid some of these teams tanking does this affect any of your betting wagers with teams
02:40like dallas and utah because as you see tonight we'll throw it up there the timberwolves are three
02:45uh 13 and a half point favorites tonight total 238 and a half and i fully expect minnesota to win
02:50but are they going to try and do this like little pr save face deal to say oh okay no
02:57we weren't really
02:57tanking we just we're not sitting our playing our guys in the fourth quarter we'll start doing that now
03:03i don't know if they're going to just kind of bow down to silver right and say you're right we're
03:09not
03:09going to tank because the value of getting a really high draft pick that could change your
03:14franchise especially for the mavericks uh standpoint pairing them with cooper flag is
03:19way better than getting in bad graces um outweighs getting bad graces of silver like i mean look at
03:25the sacramento kings right they're tanking they went up by almost 17 points against the magic and
03:30still lost by 20 plus points it doesn't change my betting strategy too much outside of i'm a little
03:36more cognizant of games that have high blowout potential so instead of naturally betting on the
03:42over of a star player i'm more likely to take their under or it's been better for live betting scenarios
03:48where if you see a team that is clearly tanking go up by double digits you're probably going to want
03:54to bet on the better team another thing that i've been doing is trying to monitor those games that are
04:00close to the verge of a blowout and the tank against the tanking teams and taking the star player under
04:05it's been happening a lot where you can get an anthony davis around under 28 and a half points
04:10uh at the end of the third quarter you know if he plays in that fourth quarter it's gonna be
04:14no more
04:14than two minutes you just have to fade him scoring two or three or four points sometimes the lines are
04:19even bigger where you have a seven point gap i think that's how you have to play it you have
04:23to
04:23find those strategic moments where you know that player is not going to play the rest of the game
04:26and kind of plant your flag on their under before we get back to uh the nba just a quick

04:33here from the olympic games uh canada scores a goal with 35 seconds left a power play goal from
04:40nathan mckinnon if they hold which i believe is like 10 seconds left they would move on to the
04:46gold medal game remember they were trailing finland in this game but if they do win they will play a
04:51winner of usa's game coming up 3 p.m eastern this has been as good as an olympic playoff hockey

04:59ever seen i think but yeah i digress we'll update that for you coming up in a few minutes let's

05:04back to the nba with this awesome nets thunder game that we're gonna preview here no jay gills
05:08just alexander no jay williams and the oklahoma city is still 17 and a half point favorites wow
05:14brooklyn must be awful total 2 12 and a half i'm almost tempted to look at this one and just
05:20blindly
05:21take these points at plus 17 and a half what am i missing here listen the oklahoma city thunder are
05:26such
05:26a good team with depth right like their star players can go out and they have so many deep
05:31players who are really good uh role players and that's probably why they've haven't been great
05:36with the absence of jay will and sga but they've been keeping their head above water because of
05:42those players i i don't really want to touch the spread here it could be it could be a situation
05:47where
05:48they win by 30 plus points i think there are some players here that you kind of want to look
05:52at
05:52i i didn't send this one over but i thought uh daron sharp if nick claxton is out daron sharp's
05:57a
05:57pretty good uh option for him to score at least 10 points because he's blowout proof so regardless of
06:03if they're up 50 or not he's going to play his allotment of minutes and he'll have starter minutes
06:07at 35 plus number um but one bet that i actually liked the most was isaiah joe um his point
06:14total is
06:14around 14 and a half around minus 120 minus 114 depending on where you're shopping isaiah joe has gone
06:20over in five of four a four or five without sga and he has free reign now to just shoot
06:27whenever
06:27he wants he's taking eight plus shots from three and i i was originally going to take his three line
06:33over three and a half but um excuse me the uh the the brooklyn nets don't allow a ton of
06:39threes only
06:39around 12 made per game but he's still going to shoot a lot and he's going to get to the
06:43free throw
06:44line so i like him over 14 and a half points he's one of the primary uh i don't want
06:48to say scorers but
06:49primary uh catch and shoot guys now that sga is not going to be available and j will is going
06:53to be
06:53out this is a peculiar line for me this next game i'm going to have to lean on you for
06:58this one i know
06:58it's back to back for denver but they're only a point and a half favorite at portland tonight total
07:05238 and a half and i and i believe denver is significantly better than portland so am i missing
07:12a player or two not in tonight for the nuggets the nuggets are have a pretty weird situation going on
07:19if injuries right uh peyton watson i think is a bigger miss than a lot of people uh really realize
07:25and it comes down to even what happened in the game against the clippers last night where uh brooke
07:30lopez had a wide open dunk as cameron johnson was covering air in that inbound player like peyton
07:36watson really is a good role player to fit in that situation i don't like fading teams on back-to
07:42-backs
07:42coming off a loss right especially against a team that has a below 500 record so there's no way
07:48you're going to catch me fading denver we could see a maximum effort out of the nuggets here i'd
07:52actually prefer to take uh the portland trailblazers team total over but man it's already set so high at
07:59over 120 and a half that number is something i couldn't get to i wouldn't be surprised to see this
08:04really just blow through the total and i'm talking about something like 135 to 128 um and that just
08:11smashes the over clippers lakers tonight let's uh get this show down at 10 p.m eastern lakers minus
08:17six and a half total two 24 and a half clippers by the way also on a back-to-back

08:24uh on the second leg of a back-to-back um clippers are they're like uh 65 percent they're also

08:30good um as a road dog this season which is surprising 12 and 5 against the spread i do like

08:37lakers the line has moved on me i was going to bet it at six and a half i i
08:41think you start to put a
08:42little caution the closer it gets to double digits um but don't think this is going to be one of
08:46those
08:46games where you're going to want a live bet if it's a close game in the clutch because the clippers
08:50are
08:50one of the best clutch teams in the nba they've won eight straight games decided by uh four or fewer
08:56which is a really big number for this team i also kind of want to see what happens with luca
09:01how many
09:01minutes is luca going to uh log in this his point total set at 28 and a half which is
09:06a really high
09:07total i can't get down with it maybe you take lebron james double double or triple double because
09:13if luca plays um not a full allotment you know he's going to go hard because he wants to win
