00:00Having a pet, of any description of what you like, I think is a massive bonus to anybody.
00:07I can't remember a time in my life when I've never had a dog.
00:11We haven't got a dog now, but we're lucky enough to have my wife's sister's dog two or three times
00:17a week.
00:19We've got the best of both worlds now.
00:21We're at an age now where we like to be able to just go off and do what we want
00:25when we want.
00:25So we're not tied to a pet.
00:27What is your cat called?
00:29Cleo.
00:30Your cat's called Cleo.
00:32And what's Cleo's favourite thing to do?
00:35Nap.
00:36Nap.
00:36Yeah, that's good.
00:38Yeah, we love our cat Cleo.
00:39She's the best, isn't she?
00:41Yeah.
00:41Your big sister?
00:44She's six.
00:44She's six, yeah.
00:46My parents have two dogs, but I count them as my dogs.
00:51It was a surprise when I was like 17 years old.
00:54My parents said that they were going out to get some ice cream for pudding and they came back with
00:58a puppy and I cried my eyes out.
01:00Love and miss them a lot.
01:02And also my partner is a vet, so he's always talking about the animals that he's bringing in and I've
01:06tried to convince him to bring in all the strays home.
01:09But we are renting as well, so it wouldn't work.
01:12But yeah, we definitely want one as soon as we can.
01:14And I think the new Rent is Right bill as well about allowing pets will definitely make that more helpful
01:19for us.
01:19I'm obsessed with guinea pigs.
01:21I think they're underrated creatures and my fond memories of guinea pigs are having them running around my family home
01:28completely free, pooing and weeing everywhere, giving them the best life possible.
01:35So yeah, love the idea of just pooing and weeing and nothing else.
01:39We've got a family dog called Hattie, which the baby loves, so I think the whole family loves her.
01:45And I think we were talking to my parents about whether they'd get one afterwards and I think without a
01:50dog or a pet in the family, they wouldn't really, we would have nothing to do.
01:54We don't talk to each other enough, so we'd have to have the dog to go on a walk otherwise,
01:57what would we be doing?
01:58It gives you so much for your mental health and everything else. You can just go for a walk, play
02:04with them, cuddle them, do whatever you want.
02:07I definitely recommend for anybody, get a dog or a cat.
02:12I don't have a pet, but I would love to have a pet. I'm currently renting, so I feel like
02:15that's one of the worst parts about modern living as a young person is you often can't get a pet,
02:19it's not allowed.
02:21But I love the cats that live on my street and if I could get a pet, it would definitely
02:24be a little cat. I've always grown up with cats.
02:26We have a plan to get two guinea pigs and call them Guinea-Bissau after the country, so yeah, that's
02:33about it, yeah.
02:34My sister's dog is perfect for us, it helps them, it's great for us.
02:39And being a pet owner is just an amazing thing, you know, they give you so much.
02:44They don't ask for a lot back, but they give so much to your health and wellbeing, you know, and
02:50I found personally when our dog passed away really difficult.
02:54So for us to be able to, you know, get buzz whenever we can is just perfect.
02:59Very good.
02:59Yeah.
02:59Great.
03:00Right.
