We met some four-legged friends and their owners at the Halloween Dachshund Pup Up Cafe at Revolution Leeds.
Transcript
00:00The Pop-Up Cafe is my little business. We've been doing it for seven years now.
00:03We've got about 150 dogs in Leeds today, including the beautiful Winston here.
00:08He's five months old and the creams are my favourite. Not meant to have favourites,
00:12but we do. We've got ballpits, puppuccinos, local businesses, photo shoots and all sorts
00:18of stuff today. Plenty of fun for dogs and humans.
00:20My name's Jack. My name's Alana.
00:22And this is Little Posie. We got her in October last year and it's the best thing
00:28we've ever done really. She brings so much love to his life and we want Swap-Up-Fit world really.
00:33So we actually came to a Pop-Up Cafe event without a sausage dog and mingled with the owners
00:38and asked what their experiences were like with a sausage dog. And they all said they're
00:42really nice, calm, lovely temperament, love their owners and very loyal. And that's what
00:48we wanted in a dog. So we thought, perfect match.
00:50I think I was looking initially for one of the cock-a-poo kind of breeds, but I looked
00:55after her when she was a puppy. And I fell in love with her then. Anyway, then I found
01:02out that she was for sale. So yeah, I wanted to get her. So I ended up getting her and she's
01:08been my little baby ever since. She's very demanding. She wants all the attention. I think that's
01:14just their breed in general. Very vocal. But yeah, she's brilliant. I don't think I've
01:20ever chosen another breed now.
01:22I've been coming to Pop-Up for about seven years now. I used to come with my other two
01:29dogs. And then I just fell in love with the Dachshunds through coming to the Pop-Up events
01:34with them really. So I was looking at getting a third dog. Decided that Dachshunds were the
01:41one that I wanted to get just because I fell in love with their cheeky behaviour.
01:45It just brings us so much joy. And I just look forward to coming home to see him every
01:51day. So yeah, it brings so much joy and happiness to our lives. So definitely like having a best
02:00friend really. And he helps me a lot. I have anxiety. So he does really make me feel better
02:07as well. Charlie's really enjoying himself, meeting all the other dogs and just having a wonderful,
02:12wonderful time. We've got another two creams over there. And they're again, just mingling
02:17and doing everything that they should. It's been absolutely fantastic. He's definitely changed our
02:22lives for better. We love having him in the house. He's a part of the family. He just wants to be a
02:27part of everything. And you know, like I said, he really benefits from these events. He's a very social dog.
02:34And these, I think these are generally quite social dogs. They love other dogs their own kind.
02:40It really is a passion for us. And we love it. Started it seven years ago down in Devon. We visited
02:45every city in the UK since then. Thousands of dogs, thousands of people. Most people come back year
02:51after year as well, which is great fun for us in their regular faces and dogs. And it's just great fun.
02:56We love what we do. It doesn't feel like work for us.
