00:00Steve Cohen I mean the man's on top. It's amazing. He is on the first place for the first time
00:06in the many years we've done this
00:08raking in $3.2 billion that he took home last year. And you know his fund has really made this
00:14amazing comeback. In 2018 after having to return money
00:19he made a comeback as a hedge fund, raised money. They got about $4 billion-ish at the beginning. Now
00:25the hedge fund just eight years later $45 billion big.
00:28Who else was notable that made the list this year. Yes. So we have a lot of the big multi
00:32-shed hedge fund managers the likes of Izzy Englander
00:36Ken Griffin. A lot of the big names that we talk about very often on this show. We have the
00:41most number of hedge fund managers that have made
00:44the billion dollar club this year than any other year. So you're looking at multiple people that have walked home
00:49with at least two or three
00:50billion dollars and about nine who took home about one billion. What's behind that. Is that just outperformance basically. So
00:57it depends on
00:58the fund. If we look at Steve you can take a look and see that the large portion of his
01:02gain came from his personal investment in
01:04the hedge fund versus fees. If we take a look at some of the other multi-strategy funds likes of
01:09Izzy Englander or Ken
01:11Griffin it's closer to being a bit more split between the fees being quite lucrative as pass through fees is
01:17what these
01:18multi-strategy hedge funds use. And they can be they can really make the economics of running this giant complicated
01:25fund more
01:26attractive. What about any newcomers anyone surprising make this list. So we have a newer comer. His name is Josh
01:32Resnick. He's been on our list before but I think last year was the first time. So he's newer to
01:36this list. He made about
01:3840 percent in his hedge fund last year. His hedge funds is a bit smaller AUM wise but he still
01:43walked home with nearly
01:44700 million dollars in profits. Emma can we just make one note that you and I were talking about on
01:49the break that this is
01:50decisively a list of men. It is an all male list. We are hopeful that one day we will see
01:56an amazing feeling female
01:57manager make this list as of now and historically the six years we've been doing this or seven years. It's
02:03always been
02:04titan male hedge fund managers.
