00:00You're looking at activist investors on the hunt this week.
00:02That's right. And it's because it's proxy season, which is that time of year when public
00:06companies hold their annual meetings and distribute proxy statements to shareholders,
00:10which means activist investors are often launching or intensifying their campaigns.
00:14Let's start with Wendy's. This stock is jumping after its biggest shareholder,
00:18Nelson Peltz's Tryon, said it's in talks with potential lenders, co-investors,
00:22as well as strategic partners on potential deals involving the burger chain.
00:26Next, you've got Jana Partners, now a shareholder in Fiserv. Pushing for changes after CEO Mike
00:31Lyons' efforts to revamp the payments processor left investors kind of underwhelmed. Fiserv stock
00:36is down more than 70 percent over the past year. We also learned that Elliott Investment built a 10
00:42percent plus stake in Norwegian cruise lines. The activist investor working with a former senior
00:47executive of Royal Caribbean, the rival, as one potential board nominee at Norwegian.
00:52And staying with travel, Starboard Valley sent a letter to TripAdvisor announcing plans to nominate
00:58a majority slate of director candidates for the 2026 annual meeting. And that's just in the last
01:03two days, Dani.
