00:00All right, the big story, this has been around the NBA,
00:04and not just with the Rockets, but around the NBA.
00:06A lot of run with this one.
00:07This has been.
00:09I mean, you make one burner account.
00:11I mean, one time you have a burner.
00:13Just once.
00:14Just one time, and now people think you're doing it all the time.
00:18What's the detailed history behind KD and the burner accounts?
00:23I mean, I obviously, when I hear burner account right now,
00:26I immediately think, in the sports world,
00:29I immediately think KD.
00:30And I'll be honest with you, just because of what's been talked,
00:32I don't know exactly the details behind what all's gone on.
00:36Yeah, I mean, he would just go at people.
00:39With a burner account?
00:40Yeah.
00:41Which, that is strange.
00:42I love KD, but that's strange.
00:43That's the time you got yourself.
00:47Now, to his credit, he just does it with his regular account.
00:50Yeah, well, I think it is entertainment on his regular account.
00:54Like, I love KD when he quote tweets people and talks trash.
00:59I'm here for that.
01:00Yeah, I just don't know why he had to.
01:01You get one burner account, now you can't live it down.
01:04You think he's got another one?
01:05I don't think so.
01:06I hope not.
01:07Well, he addressed it.
01:08I mean, it's been a thing going around,
01:09because somebody's been talking trash about, you know,
01:12deep, deep trash about the team and how things are working.
01:16Here is KD at Rockets practice.
01:18They'll get back going tomorrow.
01:20Here's KD addressing the whole Twitter burner account situation.
01:26I know you've got to ask these questions,
01:27but I'm not here to get in the Twitter nonsense.
01:29He's here to go to the C and keep the question.
01:32But I know, I can feel it happening.
01:34Give him a little bit of a mic.
01:36My teammates know what it is.
01:37We've been locked in the whole season.
01:40So, in our break, we had a break practice today.
01:42We'll pull it to the military.
01:44Does that make you feel like he, uh, he...
01:46Well, it made me feel like I was sitting at mid-court of a practice
01:49is what it made me feel like.
01:50Damn.
01:50I mean, what was he doing?
01:51Was he literally...
01:52Was he sitting on the floor with reporters around him?
01:55Yeah, well, some reporters around, but still people getting some work.
01:58I mean, that sounded like my old running back, Arthur Mapp.
02:00That sounded like him dribbling.
02:02I mean, he did...
02:03I mean, damn, who was dribbling the ball that hard?
02:04Nobody was around.
02:05I mean, somebody...
02:06It was still getting worse.
02:07Hey, Arthur Mapp, our running back,
02:08hey, no hooping at all.
02:09No hooping ability.
02:10He would try to dribble the ball through the wood.
02:12I mean, put it through the wood.
02:14Yes, indeed.
02:15That just sounded like Arthur Mapp was out there practicing with Durant.
02:18Damn.
02:18It did...
02:19I mean, like, if you were to handle it, like, and you didn't do it,
02:25or you aren't a part of this, to me, just to not make it a big deal,
02:29like, it's nonsense, that's probably the way to handle it.
02:32This was nonsense.
02:34Like, when I...
02:34To me, when I hear that, I feel I'm more inclined to think that he's not a part of this.
02:40Yeah, I don't know if I am.
02:42I don't know if that was convincing enough.
02:45I mean, it's almost laughable.
02:46Now, again, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not up, I'm up on the Kevin Durant burner account.
02:54Ha, ha, ha.
02:55It was, it was something that that's linked to him.
02:57I'm not, I'm not aware of what all specifically went on, or hell, what all's going on.
03:03But it seems like I would be a little more adamant of laughing that thing away instead of,
03:08oh, yeah, I'm just not going to get into that Twitter conversation right now.
03:11I'm not going to get into the Twitter conversation.
03:13It sounds like the guy that got caught on Twitter and doesn't want to talk about it.
03:16So you didn't, I just, I thought he took it as dismissive, like, don't he?
03:20Like, I understand you got to ask the question.
03:21Because he came in like he knew, obviously he knew he was probably going to hit him with this.
03:26And he was, he wasn't, like, he wasn't a jackass.
03:29We'll get to a jackass a little bit later on.
03:31We'll get to Mick Cronin here in a little bit later on.
03:33We'll get to a jackass.
03:34But, no, he wasn't, he wasn't that just like, I understand you got to answer the question.
03:37But, no, my teammates know what it is.
03:39We've been rolling together.
03:40I guess the only thing maybe if he would have said, no, I do not have a burner account, and
03:46I did not.
03:47Well, I would like for my guy to be like, what the hell are y'all talking about?
03:50Like, are you kidding me?
03:52I mean, what are we doing here?
03:53I mean, he answers it too nonchalantly.
03:55You want him to act like he doesn't even know?
03:59Or you want him to be a little bit more disgusted?
04:01Yeah, I mean, I want him to be disgusted with being asked about a Twitter, a burner account that he
04:05apparently doesn't believe he has.
04:07Like, yeah, I'd be a little more disgusted.
04:09Guys, I'm trying, I'm in the middle of the season here.
04:10What the hell are y'all talking about a burner account on Twitter?
04:12I don't, what are y'all talking about?
04:14That nonsense, baby.
04:15Yeah, yeah, I mean, I mean, I'm dismissive.
04:18I understand you got to answer, you got to ask the question.
04:20But it is, it is, every time I look up at the TV, I mean, all morning long, it's been,
04:24it's been on the top headlines.
04:26It's been one of them the last couple of days, yeah.
04:28And he knew it was going to be something he had to address.
04:31I don't know how many other pros would have to address it because I don't know how many other pros
04:35have done it.
04:37But that's.
04:38I think he should just get one for the hell of it.
04:40Just get another one?
04:40Call it KD's burner.
04:41It's KD's burner.
04:42Ran by KD.
04:44Ran by KD.
04:45The real KD.
04:46But, listen, that is something he's got to deal with.
04:49But the real thing that they've got to deal with is how can they get themselves back where it's a
04:57realistic feel that this team can win West.
05:00Can be a real contender the way the season began.
05:03The way the season started, I think most people thought the Rockets were right there as a potential contender to
05:10win a championship.
05:11It feels like now that we've gotten to the break and now moving beyond it, I don't know if people
05:15feel that way.
05:16And my whole thought with this is, and those of you on the base power text line, 713-572-4610,
05:23YouTube and Twitch, including you, Horns Down.
05:27What's your belief level?
05:29What did you call Tyler?
05:30I didn't call Tyler that.
05:32I called this guy here.
05:33But what's your belief level?
05:36Your confidence level that the Rockets are going to make real changes?
05:39Because they get going tomorrow.
05:41What's your confidence level?
05:42Because I clearly believe they've got to change something.
05:45They can't just keep going on the way they have.
05:48Well, I mean, look, I think this is a critical time for Emei Doka.
05:54I mean, look, the organization drafted well.
05:59You can argue they developed well.
06:02You could say that the organization made critical moves in the offseason on players that they had drafted.
06:10They made the move to bring in Kevin Durant.
06:13And now what you're left with is, I'm assuming, for the most part, with the exception of the injury to
06:20Fred Van Vliet, what you're left with is what Emei Doka wanted.
06:28And so now what are you going to do with it is the question.
06:32I think it's a critical moment for Emei Doka, number one.
06:35Number two, I don't have the answers, Ron, for what they need to do.
06:40I can just tell you this, as I've said multiple times this year, I turn on the TV, and it's
06:47the same stuff over and over and over again.
06:50And it ain't it.
06:51It ain't going to work.
06:52It's not, I mean, and I know I talk, we talk a lot about Amin Thompson in here.
06:58To me, I thought everybody was in agreement, like his development this year was going to be absolutely huge for
07:03this team.
07:04And when I turn the TV on, I don't see a development.
07:06I see a productive athlete.
07:07A guy that can go get boards and a guy that can get points in one way or another.
07:10But when it comes to him taking the next step, I don't necessarily see it.
07:14It doesn't look like the organization is wholeheartedly committed to Reed Shepard taking that next step.
07:20And then it brings up some of the moments of whether it's scheme or it's personnel that's on the floor
07:29in critical moments.
07:30That hasn't always added up for Emei Doka.
07:33So, I don't know what the answer is, Ron.
07:35Eudoka is square to me because my concern is, is he hard-headed?
07:40Right.
07:40Like, is he one that...
07:42Either way, it's going to be a downfall.
07:43Hard-headed or not able.
07:44Yeah, either he's hard-headed or do they have it in them?
07:48Do they have the people in place to be able to fix this, to get the pieces where they need
07:54to be?
07:54One of the two, and like I, like to me it would be, it would make all the sense that
08:01when they play tomorrow night,
08:03that Reed Shepard is in the starting lineup.
08:06That the lineup is Reed Shepard, Amin Thompson, and KD, and Shigun, and Jabari Smith.
08:15That, to me, would lead me to believe, all right, they've actually gone during this break
08:22and thought, all right, we've got to make some changes.
08:25We'll talk to Brandon Scott about that a little bit later.
08:26But that, to me, is, that is the very least.
08:30And maybe some scheme stuff, too, but that, like, they can't just keep rolling the way they were.
08:36Or they're just going to be around a four to six seed that is maybe their ceiling is the second
08:45round.
08:46Because that's what it looks like.
08:47But they have to do something.
08:49And even with that, though, Ron, right?
08:50But I'm just not confident that Udoka's like, all right, man, we've got, no, Reed is, no, no, no, Reed.
08:56There is a belief, no, I want my defensive guy out there, and Tari can shoot, like he can spread
09:02the floor, too.
09:03But, no, it is clear they need multiple ball handlers and multiple shooters out there.
09:09Yeah, I just, I mean, the minute you sign Kevin Durant, your expectations are a four to six seed
09:16in the second round of the playoffs.
09:18This can't be just, we're going to go as far as Kevin Durant takes us.
09:21Yep.
09:22I mean, KD got to have some help somewhere along the way.
09:24Oh, yeah.
09:25And you just also have to be able to make life easier for him and everybody, and Chingu and
09:29everybody else.
09:30Text line coming in, Rockets needs to start Aaron Holiday at point guard and move him in
09:34to shooting forward so he can play more of the Scottie Pippen role.
09:37Why not just start Reed Shepard at the point guard spot?
09:43Yeah, you ain't got to skip Reed.
09:44I mean, I could have, hell, I'll be honest with you, I was dead-ass wrong preseason.
09:49Preseason, you'd have had me right there.
09:50Why not?
09:51Right now?
09:51No, I've seen enough from Cocaine Curry.
09:55I need to see more.
09:56Yeah.
09:56And then everything just hinges on his development.
09:59He's shown enough to not get skipped by Aaron Holiday, not to mention he's the third overall
10:04pick.
10:04He's shown enough this year that he should get, like, to me, that is the obvious move to be
10:11made.
10:12But again, as I said, I wonder if Udoka is hard-headed and wants to run it the way he
10:22wants to run it.
10:23Yeah.
10:24And that, to me, is a concern.
10:26As he said, we'll talk to B. Scott about that.
10:29440 Rockets report.
10:30As B. Scott was already saying a week, two weeks ago, they need to have Reed Shepard in
10:35there.
