In the third episode of Challenge Accepted, Joel attempts to hole a 100-foot putt with a couple of twists! The first being he only has 25 attempts to do it and the second being the green he's chosen to do it on is far from flat. This is going to be his toughest challenge yet and to make matters worse, there's an embarrassing forfeit should he not manage to complete it, so be sure to watch the video right to the end!

00:00Right, for my next challenge,
00:01I'm really ramping things up.
00:03This time, it's the 100 foot crazy putt challenge.
00:06From here, all the way out there,
00:08I've got 25 balls to do it.
00:10Challenge accepted.
00:15Okay, so for episode three of Challenge Accepted,
00:18I really wanted to increase the level of difficulty.
00:20We actually have my home club here,
00:22Burley Park Golf Club in Stamford, Lincolnshire,
00:24and it's a bitterly cold day in December.
00:27My hands are absolutely freezing.
00:28But, I think it's going to be a really exciting video.
00:31So as I said, I've got a 100 foot putt here.
00:33I'm just going to measure that with my Bushnell Rangefinder
00:35just to confirm.
00:37So we are 34 yards away from the flag.
00:41So just over 100 feet.
00:43And looking at some Arcos data that I got,
00:46would suggest that make percentage,
00:48from this sort of distance,
00:50the Tour Pro is around about 4%.
00:52So one in 25.
00:53So I'm completely up against it with this challenge.
00:56It's going to be incredibly difficult.
00:57Not only when you factor in the temperature,
00:59but also the fact the 16th green here at Burley Park
01:03is a little bit quirky.
01:04Let's go and take a look and explain why.
01:12Right, so before we start this challenge,
01:13I just want to show you the quirkiness of this 16th green
01:16here at Burley Park.
01:16As you can see, it's a very long green from front to back.
01:19But as we get kind of two thirds of the way up
01:21towards the hole, you see you've got this big slope.
01:23It goes up the hill.
01:24And it's not a traditional two-tier green,
01:25and that would continue all the way along.
01:27It then drops down.
01:28So you've got this kind of big sleeping policeman style hump.
01:31Goes up, all the way down.
01:32And it's judging the pace.
01:34Incredibly difficult.
01:35But also the line of the putt,
01:36after it comes down the hill,
01:37can get a bit wobbly.
01:39It's quite difficult to read.
01:40So I'm definitely up against it with this challenge.
01:42Not only with the distance,
01:43but the quirkiness of the green,
01:44the temperature of the wind.
01:46Everything's working against me,
01:47and I've only got 25 balls to do it.
01:48So it's going to be really difficult.
01:50But let's get it underway and see how we do.
02:03I'll tell you what, it's not the worst opener,
02:10but I hit it very hard.
02:12It looked like it moved a little bit right to left,
02:15so a bit harder, a little bit more.
02:17Right, come on.
02:24Oh, it's a bit jumpy.
02:29Right next to the first one.
02:31Consistent.
02:34That's got a chance.
02:36It's got a chance.
02:40Oh!
02:41Oh, it's happening.
02:45It's happening.
02:4625.
02:47That's too many.
02:48I don't need that many.
02:49Probably, in an actual round,
02:52I'll probably chip this with a seven in there.
02:56Oh, it's looking tasty.
02:58That's a bit left.
03:01Oh!
03:02Can't feel my fingers,
03:04which I don't think is helping.
03:11Do it!
03:12Do it!
03:12Oh!
03:13Do it!
03:14Oh!
03:16No!
03:19That was so close!
03:24That's unbelievably close.
03:26Right.
03:29Go.
03:30Go!
03:31Go!
03:33Go!
03:36Oh!
03:38Give it a nudge out of the way.
03:41Oh!
03:43It's gonna happen.
03:44It's gonna happen.
03:48Pulled it.
03:49No.
03:52What I haven't explained yet is that there is a forfeit
03:56if I don't do this challenge,
03:58which is embarrassing.
04:00Watch to the end,
04:01because it could get quite entertaining.
04:08No.
04:12Getting worse.
04:14No, no, no.
04:21Go!
04:2411 balls in.
04:26Not really.
04:27Not really.
04:28Only got three parts of the hole, so.
04:33Hard enough.
04:45So I'm over halfway through.
04:50Definitely hard enough.
04:53All right.
04:57Go.
04:57Go.
04:58Go.
04:59Go.
05:04Most of them are on the left as well,
05:05so you need to aim more right, hit it harder.
05:17Got it there.
05:18Got it there.
05:19Yeah.
05:19Bit left.
05:29Go.
05:31Go.
05:32Go.
05:33Go.
05:36What?
05:40No.
05:42No.
05:46I can't believe that. How's that missed? Oh my deez. That must have like lipped out or
06:02nearly. Where is it? Oh dear. Okay, eight balls left. Obviously the likelihood of me making
06:13this is going down all the time, but I'm getting that feedback loop. I know exactly what the
06:19putt's going to do. So I know how hard I hit it, how hard I need to hit it, I
06:23know what
06:23I need to hit it on. But from 100 feet, there's a lot of stuff that can go wrong.
06:32Well that's awful. You can see that back. That's it. It's starting to rain as well.
06:46Back and through. Barely. What are you doing? That is absolutely a toilet.
07:18That was it. Three balls left. That's it. That's it. No, it's not. Did it hit the balls?
07:42Okay, this is it. One ball left. Moment of truth. Imagine the scenes if this goes in.
07:55Oh, it's so cold. Alright, come on. Come on.
08:16Come on.
08:26That's it. Challenge failed. First time I failed a challenge. Gave it a good go. How
08:34this ball didn't go in, I'll never know, but didn't really hit it. There's only like two
08:41or three that really scared the hole. Absolutely gutted to have failed my first ever challenge
08:46accepted, but gave it a good go. Obviously now, as I said, there is an embarrassing forfeit,
08:52so I need to find out what that is. But right now, I just need to go and take a
08:57moment and
08:57reflect on the miserable failure that has been this challenge. Well, hopefully you enjoyed
09:02it, and let's go and see what I've got to do. Right, so I've finished the challenge.
09:08I was hoping I could go into the clubhouse, have a nice warm cup of tea and warm myself
09:12up a bit, but I've just got a text to say that my forfeit for not completing this challenge
09:16is to clean people's clubs as they come in and finish their rounds. So I'm going to have
09:20to stick around for a little bit, wait for people to come in, give their clubs a polish
09:24before I can get nice and warmed up. So that's my punishment. Morning. How are you? Good.
09:30I'm good. Can I clean your clubs for you? I'm ready. These are quite new, aren't they?
09:40Yeah. G430s, yeah. Give them a good scrub. These wedges need some attention. Can I give you
09:54clubs a quick clean? Sorry? Can I give your clubs a clean? Yeah? Let me give them a go.
10:02Pingzing too. You don't see those every day. Bit of a scrub. Oh, look at that. Pingzing.
10:11Three iron. Beautiful. Beautiful. No worries. So that's it. We're all finished here.
10:21Clubs cleaned. I hope you enjoyed this challenge. Unfortunately, didn't complete it this time,
10:25but I will do my best on the next one. If you haven't seen our previous challenges,
10:29do go on the Golf Monthly YouTube channel to have a look at those and all our other content
10:32on the channel, whether it's rules, equipment, instruction, it's all there for you to enjoy.
10:37But that's it from me, from Burleigh Park Golf Club. I'll see you next time.
10:48We'll see you next time.
