01:33I wanted to present you with a nine-point charter
01:37something that I talked about at the DNPA panel in the AI summit but now that I have you here

01:43person I want to repeat it for your benefit we in media believe that this nine-point charter
01:52is required to ensure that AI is used for good in our industry so point number one fair value for
02:00journalistic content being used in AI systems transparency on how news content is being
02:05metabolized by AI not this blending that the AI companies are doing number two attribution and
02:13traceability as a democratic principle as our legal right not as a commercial favor recognize
02:20journalism as a public good number four reward stories that deliver social impact material change
02:28not just reactions reflection over reaction algorithms right now just reward engagement
02:34and virality they do not reward social impact number five put a real value to verified content
02:43handmade by editors number six penalize AI hallucination severely number seven end the asymmetry
02:53of reward and punishment between legacy media and social media where legacy media has to follow very
03:01strict guidelines which are flouted on a daily basis by social media creators and they're rewarded

04:02is hosting and we just heard miss Kali Puri your group vice chairperson who has outlined the whole charter the

04:10nine points charter for me and of course we have Mr. Supriya Prasad as well here on whose invitation I'm
04:19here I'm very glad that I have got this opportunity and we have met at a such a defining moment
04:27in India's history where India is charting the course of AI technology and as well as trade and I say
04:36both these things tech and trade because I have both responsibilities
04:40as the ministries as the ministries as the ministries as the ministries as the ministries as the ministries as the
04:42ministries of state in the IT department as well as in the commerce department and these two twin engines are
04:48propelling India's growth story and we meet at this time where India has got this privilege and opportunity to host
04:56the impact summit
04:58and it's not a small feat it is a very big achievement that India has got this opportunity to host
05:08it why I say that is because earlier the summits have been held from Korea to London to to France
05:18Paris which is part of the developed world it is for the first time now that a developing nation and
05:25a part of the global south India is hosting this impact summit
05:28summit and it's truly phenomenal and what we have to offer and why the whole world is looking at us
05:34today is because of the scale that India has to offer so apart from the scale we have speed we
05:40have innovation and above all we charter the course of inclusion which is very very important in our scheme of
05:48things as far as India goes so here today at this summit I just witnessed the digital twin as well
05:56here and saw and as
05:58I'll begin by saying that you know the AI opportunity is huge there are no boundaries it's evolving at such
06:07a rapid pace and India is at the forefront of that pace even for that matter Stanford judges us as
06:16far as AI penetration goes we're the third in the world for India to achieve that kind of success but
06:23for the future generations we have to begin now
06:26and that is to inculcate it in our education system and not only as a course not AI as a
06:33subject we have 600 million people who in the demographic category which are young and that's where the advantage of
06:43India is but if we don't equip ourselves and we think we've achieved it all we'll be left behind in
06:48years to come in the growth story that evolves with AI
06:50so this is a time where the government is looking at your suggestions as well as to how we should
06:58include it in our lives it's not only about students in class from 1 to 12 for colleges as well
07:04but for the elderly as well who have to train and learn because AI is going to become such an
07:10important part of our lives
07:11like at one point in time people thought mobiles like at one point in time people thought mobiles won't be
07:14anywhere but now every person has mobiles down to the villages and the grassroot levels the same way AI is
07:22going to storm our lives and no one will be left behind or will be touched by this technology big
07:29or small so that's where the key lies that we have to prepare ourselves we have to ensure that all
07:37are from the young to the old are equipped with AI
07:41but also you know India has huge penetration with internet it's got huge penetration with mobile connectivity with smartphones but
07:51that brings me the question of cyber security and cyber threats that also is equally important as part from the
07:59government it is our responsibility and we are ensuring that with the given the size and scale of what India
08:05has to offer we will have to ensure that our cyberspace is defended
08:11and we have safety for our citizens and especially with regard to AI one big challenge that the government faces
08:20is misinformation and that is also I want to throw in the public domain because we are already in the
08:26process of consulting all the stakeholders and Ms. Kalipuri has also outlined that she wants a safe transparent and trusted
08:34AI in her nine course charter
08:37so you know that's where the discussion has begun and we have reached a very advanced stages of ensuring that
08:44everybody has to take responsibility
08:46it's not only about government which is going to come out with some rules and legislations
08:51it's about the intermediaries the platforms that carry these messages and the AI content synthetically generated content
08:58people have the right to know is it original or is it fake is it deep fake is it impersonation
09:05is it harmful to societies
09:06for a country like India and the size and scale in the office diversity it is all the more very
09:12important that we get up to this challenge
09:15and AI has immense immense opportunities it has the power to ensure this as far as you know like I
09:25said from education to healthcare to agriculture
09:29at scale it has the potential to increase the productivity of our industries our manufacturing it has the capability of
09:39ensuring that our workforce our skilled workforce works better more efficient
09:45so these are the benefits of AI which India today is on top of it and ensuring that our future
09:53generations also are capable of using this technology for the growth of this country
09:59you know I am confident of India today so there are two channels I think I will switch to the

11:34UPI का AI बनाना है और वो AI ऐसा बनाएंगे model infrastructure कि हमारे

11:48technology का compute capacity GPUs कहते हैं उसको सरल तरीके से उनको उपलब्ध हो कम
11:55दाम पर उपलब्ध हो वो अपने models उस पर train करें और यहां पर वो ऐसी ऐसी चीजें
12:00बनाए AI के जरीए जिससे social impact जिससे धरातल पर impact दिखाए दे impact का मतलब यह ही है जो

13:18large language models में ना focus करते हुए specific use case models focus on key sectors उनको हम ध्यान देंगे
13:26ताकि हमारे UAPD, हमारे researchers, innovators जो बहुत talented हैं जिनके पास बहुत हुनर है
13:32मगर उनके पास opportunity नहीं है सरकार वो काम कर रही है कि उनको हर संभव opportunity उपलब कराके
13:40उनके talent का इस्तमाल करते हुए उनको skill का इस्तमाल करते हुए हम उनको AI इस्तमाल करते हुए
13:47ऐसे नए models कहते हैं जिसे हम कहते हैं जो यह outcomes क्या होंगे जिसे यह summit हो रहा है
13:53इसके लोग कहते हैं इसमें होगा क्या एक तो यह होगा कि देश और दुनिया की नजरें इस भारत के
