Goliath — Goliath 1969 (USA, Psychedelic Rock, Soul)
Nearly forgotten today, the American band Goliath recorded a couple of singles and their only self-titled album at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia during their short life. They played typical rock of their time, somewhere between the sounds of Blood, Sweat & Tears and Vanilla Fudge. Rough, typically American, with strong vibrato and pomposity, the vocals are beautifully offset by a dominant Hammond, with quite progressive and expansive solos, while soul ballads predominate.
