00:00Leeds Central Library has unveiled a new panel for the city's famous tapestry, exploring themes of freedom.
00:07Created by residents in collaboration with Leeds artists Hayley Mills, Stiles and Elnaz Yazdani,
00:14the panel was inspired by library collections Leeds history and the poem Freedom Road by Simon Arbortage.
00:21It joins the original 16-panel tapestry, which celebrates the city's people, culture and past achievements,
00:27including notable figures like John Charles and Mel B.
00:31The Pins and Needles panel highlights pre-industrial Leeds and its textile, manufacturing and retail heritage.
00:37Visitors can view the work during library hours and discover guided tapestry tours.
