00:00That's a wrap for the 39th edition of the African Union Summit here in Addis Ababa.
00:05And while the official theme was centred around water and sanitation,
00:09it quickly became clear that security would take centre stage for the continent's leaders.
00:15The chairperson of the Commission of the African Union, Mahmoud Ali Yusuf,
00:19repeatedly condemned recent coup d'etat in Africa, notably in Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
00:25And the Commissioner of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union
00:30called for an immediate ceasefire in Sudan and in the east of the DRC,
00:35saying that the guns there must be silenced.
00:39He met with the President of the DRC, Felix Chisichetti,
00:43who said that he is keen to organise an inter-Congolese dialogue which should take place in Kinshasa.
00:50Migration was also discussed in relation to both of these conflicts
00:54and world leaders, rather leaders of Africa, of the continent, met on Sunday
00:59and promised more aid to the neighbouring countries of Sudan and the eastern DRC region.
01:07There have not been any numbers released regarding that increase in aid
01:10that will be directed to those areas,
01:13but that information is expected at the World Migration Conference,
01:16which will take place in Egypt in June.
01:18Thank you very much.
