00:00Joe, we all believe we know what Las Vegas will do in April, select the national champion,
00:07the Heisman Trophy winner, Fernando Mendoza, out of Indiana.
00:12Do you, A, have any doubt this will happen?
00:15And, B, how excited should people in Las Vegas be if this does take place?
00:21I think it's a no-brainer that he goes number one overall.
00:24I don't think it's a deep quarterback class.
00:27Yes, I think there's more potential fringe players from four to seven in those rounds than there are in the
00:33top three.
00:33I'll just say that.
00:35I do believe with you that Fernando Mendoza, you know, from a physical attribute and for the mental and emotional
00:43aspect,
00:44that's where I think he excels.
00:46He's calm under pressure.
00:47He's rebounded throughout the regular season and playoffs.
00:51When he makes mistakes, he's shown the ability to bounce back from those and not potentially implode.
00:57And I think he's a great fit now with Kubiak in that scheme.
01:01And I think Kubiak's the perfect mentor when you look at the progression of Sam Darnold in Seattle
01:07and the games that he has had, especially through the playoffs and at the end of the regular season,
01:13that he really upped his game and really basically just, you know, wiped away any negativity surrounding him.
01:20So Fernando Mendoza is a great fit.
01:23They have Brock Bowers.
01:24They have the running back, Jenty.
01:26And now they have to put complementary pieces on the offensive and defensive lines.
01:30But from a scheme and for the ability for Kubiak in year one to mentor Mendoza, I think it's a
01:37great fit.
01:38I agree.
01:39I really think that Las Vegas fans should be pumped up.
01:43You guys know I'm all in on Fernando Mendoza.
01:46There's a lot of people who think where he is going to be drafted is a, in large part, product
01:53of the draft class.
01:55I don't think that's the case.
01:57I think he's incredibly worthy of being first overall.
01:59I think he has a chance to be a superstar at the next level.
02:01And I think he's got the coach to do it with.
02:03Because I think Clint Kubiak is one of the better offensive minds out there.
02:06I really believe that Las Vegas ended up getting the best head coach hired this cycle.
02:11And to pair that with a quarterback that I fully believe in, we've just seen the sample size.
02:15National champion, Heisman Trophy winner.
02:18When you do it at that level, it's major success at the next level.
02:22And people want to try and compare him to Jared Goff.
02:25That's crazy.
02:25He could give Jared Goff a 40-yard head start, 100-yard sprint.
02:29He'd still beat him.
02:30Okay?
02:31People are too scared to compare him to Joe Burrow.
02:34I don't think they should be too scared.
02:35Because that's what it feels like to me.
02:37It really, really does.
02:39And I think that this is really simple.
02:40I don't think they should be too careful.
