There have been protests outside hotels used to house asylum seekers. Where do you think asylum seekers should be housed? Are you happy with how the government is handling the small boats issue?
Transcript
00:00I feel sorry for the asylum seekers, I really do, and I don't know, there's not an easy answer.
00:05I know they've been using military bases.
00:08They just opened a new one, haven't they, I think, somewhere, I can't remember where it was, but they're just...
00:12I don't know.
00:12It's an old army base that they're using, which is fine, I think, if you've got people there while they've
00:17been processed.
00:18In terms of the way the government's handling it, well, at least they're doing something about it,
00:21but I do worry about the way that the right-wing press and reform whip up that sort of hatred.
00:29A lot of people think that issues that are happening in the UK is because of asylum seekers,
00:36but in actuality it's because of corporations or billionaires or more, like, complex issues.
00:43It's a freedom of speech, but I think the government should do more actions.
00:51Protesting outside of these buildings where people live in, where they are placed by the government,
00:55I feel like that is terrorising individuals, and that's an awful thing to do.
