00:00Today is the NBA All-Star Dud Weekend, okay?
00:05The argument is over, folks.
00:09MJ versus LeBron, it's over.
00:12The ultimate stat machine in LeBron James.
00:17This is what we're doing now.
00:19He's padding his stats.
00:21Hey, I'm going to give him this, and I said this earlier in the program.
00:25LeBron James is one of the five greatest players in the history of the sport.
00:28No doubt about it.
00:30He's one of the guys that you could play at all five spots at any place on the floor.
00:35He is just one of the most universally renowned players that we've ever seen.
00:40However, when you're talking about the greatest player in the history of the game,
00:44the guy who changed the game, the guy who made Converse sneakers obsolete
00:49and turned Nike into the brand that we see today, the guy who made the NBA,
00:55the logo should not just be Jerry West any longer.
00:58The logo should be Michael Jordan, not LeBron James.
01:02This self-anointing, the King stuff, LeBron James is leaving the NBA in a horrible place.
01:10And what I mean by that is the court of people watching the game, appointment setting.
01:17Nobody's going to watch this all-star game today.
01:20Wait till the numbers come in and you see who's not engaged.
01:25How can you call yourself the greatest player in the history of the sport when this could
01:31absolutely be your last all-star game?
01:36How could this be?
01:38How could this be a moment where people would say, I got to see this?
01:43I want to see the last tour out.
01:45I want to see the victory parade.
01:48Remember when Kareem had that tour where he told everyone, this was my last year of playing.
01:54I think Kareem played 20 seasons in the NBA.
01:56And they gave him rocking chairs every single place he went.
02:01People revered Abdul-Jabbar.
02:03Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Jordan's the conversation.
02:06I tell people this all the time.
02:08With 10 seconds left in a ball game, you want Jordan taking the shot?
02:12Or do you want that guy with the sky hook on the box right there with a five-footer
02:16or a guy with a 20-footer?
02:18The conversation comes down to Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Jordan,
02:22who the greatest players in the history of the NBA are.
02:24I mean, Kareem, five NBA championships, six NBA MVPs, all the scoring championships.
02:32Folks, it comes down.
02:33You could even throw Mamba in this and put Kobe in that conversation.
02:37You could put Magic Johnson in that conversation.
02:40And you could clearly throw Larry Bird in that conversation.
02:44And, of course, the legendary Wilt Chamberlain.
02:47You know, I compare, really, LeBron James to Wilt.
02:51Wilt Chamberlain has all the numbers.
02:54Wilt Chamberlain scored 50 a night one year and 25 boards.
02:59And now, Wilt Chamberlain, all those records and numbers,
03:02people look at other players as the greatest player of all time.
03:06Look, I'm not going to put a lot of shade on LeBron and say that this guy
03:09didn't make an impact in the sport because he did.
03:12But this conversation's over.
03:14Michael Jordan, six for six.
03:17Michael Jordan, MVPs in all those games.
03:20And if he doesn't do fantasy baseball for two years, I don't believe the Rockets win those
03:25back-to-back titles and Akeem's got those two championships.
03:28I believe you're looking at eight championships and you're talking about somebody being put
03:33next to the greatest champion American sports athlete in Bill Russell.
03:38Bill Russell's the greatest team sport champion we've ever produced in this country.
03:41But the greatest athlete in the NBA and the greatest player in the NBA, that conversation is over.
03:48It is Michael Jordan.
