Pets in costumes take part in carnival joy at Rio

The annual Blocao da Barra parade brought together pet owners and their costumed animals on Saturday, continuing its tradition as a carnival highlight in Rio de Janeiro's Barra neighborhood. The event featured dogs dressed in an array of outfits—from Wonder Woman to hot dogs—as families and local residents gathered in celebration. Participants expressed joy at the family-friendly nature of the parade. "It's a way to relax. It's a family block party. They enjoy it too," public servant Rita de Cassia Linhares said while attending with her pet.
