A married couple was killed after the car they were travelling in caught fire in a two-vehicle accident near Taman Tualang Indah petrol station in Temerloh early Saturday (Feb 14) morning.

Temerloh OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Nasyim Bahron said police received a call from a member of the public on the incident at about 12.55am.

00:15the couple's car, travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan, was hit from behind by a luxury SUV.
00:21Police said both vehicles skidded onto the road shoulder after the collision,
00:25causing the car to catch fire and killing the couple, who were found burnt to death inside.
00:30The 28-year-old SUV driver suffered minor hand injuries and is suspected of driving under the
00:36influence of alcohol. Both vehicles will be sent to Pospacom for inspection, while blood and urine
00:41samples from the SUV driver have been taken for toxicology tests. The driver has been remanded
00:47for four days until February 17, with the case investigated under Section 44 Subsection 1B
00:53of the Road Transport Act 1987.
