00:07Are you ready for the BTS comeback? New album, a world tour, and their first interview as a group
00:14since announcing their break in 2022. The boys were serving press conference realness for GQ.
00:21Chic. And we've got the biggest takeaways right here. First up, we got to talk about their
00:26mandatory military service. Jimin joked that it was so, so hard. I was going to cry, but then added
00:32it was very challenging, but being able to be in those shoes and experiencing that meant a lot to
00:37us. In South Korea, all able-bodied men ages 18 to 28 are required to serve in the military for
00:44up to
00:4421 months. So the group took a nearly four-year hiatus to proudly serve their country. V revealed
00:51to GQ that before they all got discharged, Jungkook cried and bawled because he really wanted to be
00:57on stage and he just really wanted to perform. During this time, the K-pop superstars also dropped
01:02solo projects, which J-Hope called a steep learning curve. Fans worried they might never get back
01:09together. Kind of like when Zayn broke away from One Direction. I forgive, but I don't forget. It
01:21came. The personal pressure is huge. Since last month, I haven't even been able to sleep. I was
01:27thinking about whether I should get a prescription for sleeping pills. I've wondered thousands of
01:32times. Would it be better for the team to disband or go on hiatus? Their fans, aka the army,
01:39were shocked and devastated, and GQ got the guy's reaction to the drama. Jimin told GQ that it was
01:46vulnerable to say things like that and proved how emotionally invested RM is in BTS. Mostly,
01:52the boys were able to laugh it off. And they're picking up where they left off with their fifth
01:56studio album, Aura Rang, out March 20th. The 14-track album is the first full group release
02:02in nearly four years, promising a, quote, diversity of genres. Suga told GQ,
02:08What I can tell you is that it's going to be quite different from the BTS albums and sounds
02:13that you've been listening to. You're going to see a more mature side of BTS this time around.
02:18They also entered a songwriting camp in Los Angeles for the first time, with rumors that pop music
02:24maestro Max Martin, who collaborated on Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl, is on the album.
02:30BTS also revealed they've been working six days a week like businessmen. That means morning, gym,
02:36lunch, then recording studio from 1pm to 8pm. Now, with all eyes on their big comeback, RM admitted,
02:43I think we're still confused, but we're trying to find a little piece of gold inside this confusion.
02:48Along with the new album, BTS also has a Netflix doc out March 27th and a colossal world tour,
02:55kicking off in Seoul in April. On August 1st and 2nd, they're returning to New Jersey's MetLife
03:00Stadium for another sold-out run. Seven years ago, they crushed it, proving these guys can hang
03:07with the big stars like Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, and Beyonce.
