00:00In other news, in Brazil, the international sector of the Landless Workers Movement, MST,
00:06launched a campaign as well to mobilize society in support of Cuba seeking to raise funds
00:12to purchase medicines that will be sent to the Caribbean island amid the intensification
00:16of the economic blockade imposed by the United States.
00:23You are aware that Cuba has been subject to an economic, financial and even maritime transportation
00:29blockade for more than 16 years, and this has greatly affected the Cuban government's
00:40ability to purchase medicines on the international market, either because it does not have access
00:47to foreign currency, or because of a lack of transportation.
00:57Therefore, movements that feel solidarity with the heroic epic that the Cuban people have
01:09been carried out for 60 years, we have at least a solidarity obligation to easy the suffering
01:16of those who have some illness and try to send medicines.
01:26In this regard, the Cuban Embassy in Brazil expresses gratefulness for the initiatives taken to
01:33its social media acts to share the following.
01:35We thank the MST and the Brazilian Popular and Social Movement for their fundraising campaign
01:41to purchase medicines for the Cuban people, victims of the genocidal policies of the US government.
01:47Solidarity is the tenderness of the peoples.
