00:00I'm serious. I'm just really sick. I can't handle this anymore.
00:06Tell Me Lies is about really messed up people doing very bad things. Always has been.
00:11But even by those standards, Season 3 has tried its best to raise the stakes.
00:16And Episode 7 in particular feels like a challenge.
00:20It seems like every character, even the handful we like a little,
00:23is always attempting to make the worst choices possible.
00:26Everyone is going through a villain arc at the same time.
00:30There are just no good things about it.
00:32I will promise not to sting.
00:34Doesn't give us any fresh knowledge or interesting twists.
00:38It only makes what we previously knew even more complicated and scary.
00:42There are still some questions regarding the exact path all of this might take us to the 2015 timetable,
00:48which is once again completely missing here.
00:51But for the most part, things are going exactly as we thought they would,
00:55which is very, very badly.
00:58Even people who aren't usually an issue, like Wrigley and Evan to some extent,
01:02are showing very worrying signals.
01:05Ugh, it's all just a giant mess.
01:09Lucy finally starts to take action.
01:11First, she goes to Tegan and says that Steven is crazy.
01:15Then she goes to Evan and tells him that she is pretty confident
01:18Steven will tell Brie about their one-night fling.
01:20She makes him promise that they will both deny it totally.
01:24Since Steven has no proof, and Brie already hates him, that should stop him in his tracks.
01:29After that, Lucy goes to Steven and makes him think that there is a chance they can get back together.
01:34She'll even tell everyone about her and Evan,
01:36but only if he promises to stop threatening to show her the confession tape.
01:41That's the main idea, but she makes it look a little nicer.
01:44And Steven, who can't help but be the only person in Lucy's life who can stand her,
01:49seems to be going along with the concept that she will be his full-time plaything.
01:53But Steven wants Lucy to inform Brie at her photography show,
01:56which is only adding salt to injury.
01:59He hears Lucy riding for Brie to her intoxicated mum,
02:02which is different from what she told him before about not wanting to put Brie first anymore.
02:07Lucy is too obvious about wanting the recording,
02:09and Steven figures out what she's up to, if he didn't before.
02:13He tells her that she will never get the recording.
02:17Lucy, who is at a loss, goes back to Steven in tears and asks him to watch the recording.
02:23He plays it for her over and over again, with the same spiel about seeking attention.
02:29Lucy encourages him to just let it go and get it over with.
02:32I can't tell if this is Lucy being very smart and taking some of Steven's power away
02:37by accepting what he thinks is her worst-case scenario,
02:40or if it's just part of her strange self-hatred that makes her want to be outed as a liar
02:45and hated by everyone anyway.
02:47But Steven is a little taken off by this approach and just gives Lucy the recording,
02:52along with a promise that he never made a copy, even if it's hard to believe.
02:57I still don't know what to think.
02:59Is this a rare time when Steven is being kind,
03:02or is he playing a much more evil long game to make Lucy think she's safe now,
03:07so he can hurt her even more later?
03:09It could be either one, but it's most likely the latter.
03:13And what's going on with Lucy's mind?
03:15At the end of the episode, she runs across Tegan again,
03:19and delivers her the same warning she did before,
03:21even though she had entirely forgotten about the first time they talked.
03:25Hmm.
03:26We still have one more episode to find out what's going on,
03:30but I think we probably have a whole other season after that, to be honest.
03:34I simply want to be the first to acknowledge that whatever is going on between Wrigley and Brie,
03:39it feels like the most real connection in the show's history.
03:43That could be because it was built on trust and openness instead than physical closeness.
03:47Either way, the schedule for 2015 tells us that it ends quite badly,
03:53and we start to go in that direction here.
03:55After their surprise kiss, both are trying to figure out what to do next.
03:59Wrigley resolves to break up with Pippa, and Brie thinks she will break up with Evan.
04:03But for some reason, the latter doesn't happen.
04:07Wrigley does end things with Pippa, though.
04:09He is right that they seem more like best friends,
04:12and that she hasn't shown much interest in him lately,
04:14but she doesn't handle it very well,
04:16which is a bit hypocritical since she is cheating on him.
04:20She does tell Diana about this later,
04:22but she also messes up that friendship by being a little too pushy about Diana's future.
04:27Pippa gets dumped twice in one night.
04:30She doesn't handle this well either, and goes to Wrigley for help right away.
04:34She literally begs him to sleep with her.
04:37And even though he doesn't really want to, he does it anyhow.
04:40Of course, Pippa tells Brie about this the next morning,
04:44which makes Brie jealous and make up with Evan.
04:46She then hides out at his place,
04:48where she goes through his laptop and phone while he's in the shower,
04:51and seems to figure out that he's with Lucy.
04:54This would explain why she wasn't too startled by Stephen's bombshell during the wedding.
04:59It would also be a roundabout way to explain why she kept cheating on Evan with Wrigley while they were
05:04married.
05:06Evan knows that he hurt Brie's feelings in the last episode,
05:09so he chooses to ask someone for help on how to win her back.
05:13And who does he ask for advice?
05:15Hey, Oliver!
05:16Evan asks Brie's much older abuser how to control her in a surprising turn of events.
05:22And he believes this is a good thing to do?
05:25Oliver tells Evan that Brie is really scared and shy and needs him,
05:29so he should make himself useful to her.
05:31When Evan offers to pick Brie's mom up from the station later,
05:35it sounds like he's just being nice.
05:36But when he takes Brie's inebriated mother out for a drink first,
05:40and then lies to Brie when she shows up at the photography exhibit drunk,
05:44it's evident that Evan is just as crazy as everyone else in this show.
05:48Critics note that even the more likable characters are making the worst possible decisions,
05:52creating a big mess of toxic knots that sets a dark stage for the finale.
05:56A major point of discussion is Evan's sabotage of Brie's photography exhibit
06:00by getting her estranged mother drunk,
06:02a move described as sinister and textbook manipulation to isolate her.
06:07Cast member Kat Missal has noted that Brie is increasingly viewed as a villain herself this
06:11season for her secretive affair with Wrigley and her lies to her best friend, Pippa.
06:15The episode is praised for its high stakes,
06:18moving from the massacre of the previous goth party into a high-pressure gallery setting that
06:22tests every remaining bond in the group.
06:24Episode 7 serves as the final lead-in to the season 3 finale,
06:28which is scheduled to air on February 17, 2026.
06:32In Tell Me Lies season 3 episode 6,
06:34Valentine's Day at Baird College is marked by paranoia and complicated relationships,
06:38beginning with Wrigley and Pippa waking up together,
06:40though Pippa quickly departs, and Diana receives troubling news about intimate photos Stephen sent
06:45to her father. Lucy and Brie host an anti-Valentine's Day party with a goth theme,
06:49where tensions rise as Brie invites Alex, who immediately seeks out Stephen,
06:53while Chris confronts Pippa about an accusation involving Lucy, creating further conflict.
06:58A drinking game called Paranoia escalates the evening's drama, with players revealing harsh
07:02truths about each other, leading to a somber mood after questions about self-harm and infidelity are
07:07raised. Following the party, Brie confides in Wrigley about her mother and her complicated
07:11relationship with Evan, culminating in a kiss, while Lucy, after a confusing encounter with
07:15Alex, ends up at his place where she breaks down and they share a kiss and her.
07:19The episode concludes with Brie confronting Oliver about his affair with Amanda and realizing her own
07:24age is also problematic, while Lucy, disoriented, finds herself at Stephen's building and is taken
07:29in by Diana, who reveals Stephen's retaliation with nudes, and Brie and Wrigley share a kiss
07:33after Brie seeks comfort from him.
