Black labrador Lachie senses distress in human beings.
Transcript
00:01He's a very calm and peaceful animal. It's one of those things where I think if
00:06you get the right animal for the right time, in the right place, it can bring
00:11just an innate amount of peace. He's very chill. So in the hospital we may have
00:15people that are in grief and they're crying, wailing, things like that and he'll
00:21come up and he'll sit with them, look up at them, stare at them, may even nudge
00:27them gently. This can happen with people in great distress like that but also
00:32people that are palliated or dying just can be that final gentle cuddle when
00:38it can't be done through other means. There may not be family or friends
00:42around. It's just a simple act at end of life.
