00:04My name is Les Dorgo.
00:08I currently work full-time for the fire department of Windsor.
00:14It's been a passion of mine to help the community, help people out.
00:18Every day is a little different, so that makes it a great job to have.
00:25During the pandemic, we were essential as essential to be.
00:30Going out, responding to people, responding to medicals, with the unknown.
00:38Pokemon Go was the bright light for me during the pandemic.
00:43To be able to go out of my house, go for a walk, catch some Pokemon,
00:49and feel a little bit of normalcy in my life.
01:01I went through some health challenges as a child, and the caring nature that nurses had
01:07really inspired me to want to be that caring individual in some of people's worst days of their lives.
01:17The pandemic for me was really rough.
01:23We were running out of personal protective equipment, and we just felt helpless and powerless.
01:32It was pretty lonely and isolating.
01:37I developed agoraphobia.
01:40It's an anxiety disorder.
01:43Even leaving my room was a struggle some days.
01:48So I needed a reason to enjoy life again, which is why I downloaded Pokemon Go.
02:00And a Pikachu popped up across the street.
02:04So, of course, I had to leave and go get it.
02:09It was a tough time in life.
02:10It was a tough time for everyone.
02:13And that's when a lot of people were downloaded for the first time.
02:16And it was good to see and be able to foster some of these new players and help them out.
02:24Of course, I wanted to finish the entire Pokedex.
02:27And I was missing the ones that you needed to travel for.
02:31So I posted to the local Pokemon Discord group asking if anybody had a Corsola.
02:39I messaged her privately saying, hey, I have a Corses liver tray.
02:43Do you want to make a date of this?
02:48At the time, I know he said it was a date.
02:50But I didn't fully comprehend that it was a date.
02:53I thought it was two friends playing Pokemon Go.
02:57It wasn't until the end of the night when he kissed me that two and two came together.
03:01And the rest is kind of history.
03:06Pokemon Go is the game of going out and exploring.
03:10You have to go into the forest to go catch some forest Pokemon.
03:14You have to go down to the beach to collect a certain beach Pokemon.
03:18We had to go down to Mexico to get a Halucio.
03:21We had to go to France.
03:23This is the Corsola that Les traded me on our first date.
03:27These are hard to get.
03:28And he just willingly gave it to basically a stranger at that point.
03:33That just kind of speaks to Les's character.
03:35He's always so giving and he's always willing to help anybody out.
03:39It's that sense of adventure, that perseverance is the big quality I love about Sandra.
03:46We got married on June 6th, 2025 thanks to Pokemon Go.
03:52It was at Go Fest in New Jersey.
03:56I walked down the aisle to the Pokemon theme song.
04:00I read my vows out of a Pokedex that I've had since 1997.
04:05Our cake topper was of Chansey dressed up as a nurse and Squirtle dressed up as a firefighter.
04:13And then of course Pikachu showed up to our wedding so he was a crowd favorite amongst all of our
04:17wedding guests.
04:19For our honeymoon we went to Japan.
04:21That was Pokemon Go Wild Area in Nagasaki.
04:25Big in-person event.
04:26It was absolutely amazing.
04:28Our story was picked up by the news in Canada, the U.S., Singapore, Japan.
04:34We had an interview with Good Morning America.
04:37Les, you smooth Casanova, you.
04:39Everyone loves a good love story and seeing it in real life is absolutely amazing.
04:47Let's see.
04:49Actually we'll need a second zip tie.
04:52That works.
04:56I volunteer as a community ambassador.
04:59So what that entails is organizing community events.
05:02Hey Jason.
05:03Hi.
05:04Is this your wife?
05:05Hey, how's it going?
05:06And just being that go-to person that members of the Pokemon Go community can come to for help, for
05:11advice.
05:12So with the code cards you get two free premium battle passes and one star piece.
05:18A lot of people see us in the park and just think that we're glued to our phones the entire
05:23time.
05:23But they don't realize that there's so much more connection that's happening.
05:27Prof, these guys are from Texas.
05:30They're uh, they saw the event on campfire as they're driving through the area.
05:33Awesome, welcome!
05:35We have 255 people here today.
05:37So far.
05:38So far.
05:39We're only an hour into the event.
05:42My mortgage broker is a Pokemon Go player.
05:44My real estate agent, Pokemon Go.
05:47I've met doctors, I've met electricians, I've met contractors, all because of Pokemon Go.
05:53It's kind of my go-to now to how I meet people.
05:56And I always tell people, hey, if you ever need anything, just contact the community.
06:00You'd be amazed what we're all connected to.
06:03Pokemon Go!
06:05That's the best part of the game.
06:08Oh, I caught it.
06:09But one of the arguments for those games is that there are even certain different scenarios.
06:17It's not random enough.
06:17I need to go.
06:17The one behind close ones is something like this.
06:18The two games they ever wanted from najwię ping pong wurden.
06:19The two games in the grocery store are the same.
06:19So there's something that happened.
06:19So, you know, all that me, you wanna see that I met.
06:19You
