00:16Welcome, everyone. President, before we start at the University of 1972, the happiness felt by students, hundreds of people, here
00:27at American University.
00:33And peace always begins from within, not without. Not out there. Don't expect the world to be at peace, because
00:43it will never happen.
00:48If we have hundreds and hundreds monks, not just about 20 monks, but if we have thousands of monks walking
00:55every day like that, the world's still not going to be at peace.
01:00But all the human beings in this world are practicing mindfulness every single day. It will change this world to
01:10be at peace. The power of togetherness can change everything.
01:17Your noble journey is not only to walk across the land, but walk across the path of the people.
01:26By moving steps, teaching into practical living, acceptable for the world can see, feel, and learn from.
01:43I have watched them for the last two months. I think probably two months ago I became aware of them.
01:50And with everything going on in our nation right now, they have provided my spiritual home.
02:00They've given me hope.

03:24Friends, on this beautiful afternoon, the temperature is slightly warmer.
03:37...like the hard drive. Anything we key into that keyboard is recorded into the hard drive.
03:43A single word from the strangers, or a single word from our friends.
03:51Let peace bloom and flourish among all of us throughout this nation and the world,
04:01so that this world can become the better place for all beings to live.
04:09...outside, from the outside, surround us. We collect all those, and at the end,
04:16not popping up, which is that we cannot capture and join this mission together.
04:23This is the moment...
04:25I've been following their progress, and I'm a meditator myself. I belong to a meditation group,
04:35and the message that they have of peace and mindfulness really touches me.
04:43And in this world, what's going on today, we really need it.
04:47So, I believe that the energy that we put out has a positive effect,
04:54and it's very meaningful for you.
05:14And I am very grateful to take on this journey to walk that far from Fort Worth, Texas to here.
05:20And I am very grateful that our church has opened the door to host us, to give us food,
05:27to give us a place to live, to stay overnight.
05:30And we are here in this beautiful church, in this very holy place.
05:37We have small tokens of our ministry here that we would like to present to you.
05:43I present to you a pin that represents the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, D.C.
06:10And now, what are we facing?
06:13I have to say, sadly, it's almost a reign of terror,
06:17where people are being terrified.
06:21School children, afraid to go to school,
06:25from fear that they're going to be grabbed off the streets
06:28and sent to a prison or detention camp.
06:36Workers afraid to go to work.
06:39Families being torn apart.
06:41So it seems that we have to balance this inner peace with what I call
06:47a strong commitment to conscientious compassion.
06:56The best part is when the Wide
