00:01If you found yourself in an emergency, would you know which number to call?
00:06The 11th of February marks European 112 Day,
00:10a day established by the European Union in 2009 to promote the emergency number.
00:16112 is an international number you can call for an emergency, but only in Europe.
00:22And the benefits of that is that when you're in another country, like Italy or something, or Spain,
00:27and you have an emergency at that moment, you don't have to think, okay, what's the number right here?
00:33In Brussels, each operator received a little gift as a token of appreciation, a stress ball.
00:39This might prove useful given the demanding nature of the job.

00:53Users can open the application to select the type of assistance they need.
00:58The app allowed to to have an exact position to determine where you are located,
01:02so that is easier for you to find.
01:05There is also a chat function for people who are not hearing,
01:09or who have a speech, or who cannot speak, or who cannot speak.
01:13You can also speak medical information.
01:16For example, I am diabetic, so that we know 100 centrales,
01:19that there is a lot of information that there must be taken care of.
01:31The fire brigade in Brussels continues to encourage the public to download the tool,
01:37as currently only 4 to 5 percent of the requests are made through the app.
