00:00Why did you feel it was important to visit the Armenian Genocide Memorial today?
00:04Does that mean that you are officially recognizing the Armenian Genocide and all the lives that were lost?
00:08Well, we're going to visit some important sites to Azerbaijan tomorrow.
00:11And when we talked to the Armenians, they said this is a very important site for us.
00:15And obviously, I'm the first vice president to ever visit Armenia.
00:18They asked us to visit the site.
00:20Obviously, it's a very terrible thing that happened a little over 100 years ago
00:24and something that's just very, very important to them culturally.
00:26So I thought out of a sign of respect, both for the victims, but also for the Armenian government
00:31that's been a very important partner for us in the region, to Prime Minister Koshinyan,
00:35I wanted to go and pay a visit and pay my respects.
