Transcript
00:00This is an association to gather our hearts in our Lord's divine presence in the presence of
00:18Prophet Sayyidina Muhammad ï·º and in the presence of Awliya.
00:30I remember one time in the Priory in London, we had all the lights down very low for Fajr.
00:50And Muhammad Shaykh Nazim, all of us walked in, he said, he's very nice, or sleeping, burn.
00:57What did I?
00:59All of us going to sleep otherwise.
01:01A few moments only to, everyone knows more than me here, we asked the method of our shape,
01:14Muhammad Shaykh Nazim, Muhammad Shaykh Hishan, and Awliya, to look at us.
01:19Awliya, like Wi-Fi.
01:25You know, Wi-Fi, all of us, we have Wi-Fi to take information on our phones coming from who knows where.
01:35Awliya have to have at least that Wi-Fi to be able to reach their memories,
01:41to guide them, to help them, to progress.
01:52It's a very delicate and fine matter.
01:59I'm saying to remind myself mostly, anyone who calls himself or herself a Morid or a Morida,
02:12student of a sheikh, of a Wali.
02:15They have to, and I have to remind myself, we have to remind ourselves to be alert always for that Wi-Fi.
02:31Always, the sheikh is looking at his disciples or students or followers to guide them through their situation.
02:50That we have to be ready for that guidance.
02:53Well, I'm going to say, God bless you, makes him look at us from his heavenly station with his love, always.
03:04And he used to say, we have to be at least like the cat in front of the hole where the mouth comes out.
03:14The cat is sitting, looking.
03:18Sometimes the cat pretends he's not interested.
03:20But really, he's looking, always.
03:24We have to be like that to see what is coming from guidance.
03:31We're not on such a high level to receive a hard telephone, step left, step right, go straight, go back.
03:38But coming through the situations, everyone has in their heart the amir.
03:45I'm asking forgiveness to our Arabic-speaking brothers.
03:48Even I can't recite the prayer, don't believe it.
03:51The amir, conscience.
03:54We have a, where's Amil Fawad is here?
03:59The pilot has his radar.
04:02When he flies his plane, even if it's cloudy or rainy, he follows his instruments and he can land the plane.
04:11He trusts on that instrument.
04:13It guides him.
04:13And we have like that, the amir, through our hearts.
04:18He said it's originally equipment in every human being.
04:21That meter to say, right or wrong, yes or no.
04:25If you're finding yes, follow it.
04:29If you're finding no, don't follow it.
04:31As Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, follow that which doesn't cause your heart to doubt.
04:37If anything make your heart to leave it for the thing that makes you firm.
04:43Follow it.
04:44Follow that.
04:44And if the marid or marida, men or women, can train themselves to be alert, you should find the guidance, hedaya, from the shaykh coming, coming, coming.
05:01Through 24 hours, so many different kinds of guidance coming to that marid or marida.
05:11We're asking to follow.
05:12So, I heard one imam last week in Chicago speaking in Jummah.
05:24He said a very good point for that.
05:26He says, why we're fasting in Ramadan?
05:28For what?
05:30What a human can do to make Allah happy?
05:33We can make sound.
05:34We can keep quiet.
05:35We can stand up.
05:35We can see.
05:36We have limited things we can do to make Allah happy.
05:39Why he wants from us not to eat or drink, what's for him?
05:42It is for us to make their conscience to be polished, to take, get the taqwa.
05:49Everyone knows taqwa.
05:52To get it really, to be aware.
05:55To be aware of that presence of our Suhanahu wa ta'ala.
06:03To be aware of the Prophet, to be aware of our faith.
06:08I listened to Vandashaykh's talk in the car coming yesterday.
06:12He told us the story of Oaisal Karni.
06:18He said, after Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam went from, they say, honor the next world with his only presence, Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
06:26He left his Juba that he passed on this world in, as a trust, as an inheritance.
06:34He said, take this, give to Oaisal Karni.
06:37Who is Oaisal Karni?
06:38No one knows who is Oaisal Karni.
06:39He wasn't one of the people.
06:40He gave to Omar Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, go find and give to him.
06:49And he told the story of Manashek, better than I can tell it.
06:53They went, they found, finally, after wrong searching, they found somebody, match that description.
06:57They approached him from behind.
06:59He was on a hill looking after his sheep.
07:02They said, oh Omar, oh Ali, come here, give me my amalat.
07:05He knows they're coming.
07:06And he came, he gave to him, he put over his head, kept quiet for a while, and he was
07:14receiving what Prophet wants him to receive.
07:16Allah knows, it's over our level.
07:19Then he said to Omar, oh Omar, you saw Prophet?
07:25Of course, we were every day with Prophet.
07:27You saw the Sheikh?
07:28Every day we were with the Sheikh.
07:30Describe him to me.
07:32And Omar, say, no, I began to describe him.
07:35The Prophet is like this, he's like that, his beard is like that, his eyes, his head.
07:40He said, you didn't see.
07:43He said to Sayyidina Ali.
07:45Karim, oh, shalom, shalom, rabbi.
07:49Oh Ali, you saw?
07:51He said, I think I know what you mean.
07:54One time I saw.
07:56Not to make the story long, Lana Sheikh told the whole story, but one time, Sayyidina Ali,
08:04he had a sickness in his eyes and there was an important battle coming.
08:08They used to call, two armies would line up and one knight, one champion would ride out
08:15from one army and one from the other army to challenge each other.
08:20Sometimes the whole thing was settled just there.
08:24And Sayyidina Ali was the powerful one for the Muslims.
08:30But he had that day something wrong in his eyes.
08:33He couldn't see.
08:34He had sickness in his eyes.
08:37And he went to Prophet Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam and called him.
08:41He says, no, you can't go out there.
08:43The other person was resulting and doing everything to make his blood boil.
08:46He wants to go out even if he can't see.
08:47He says, no, you can't go out like that.
08:51And he put his holy saliva in Sayyidina Ali's eyes and said, hold me.
09:00And he said to Ali, look down.
09:04And Sayyidina, you look down.
09:06And from Prophet's holy neighbor, middle of his body to his knees, Sayyidina Ali said,
09:13I look down.
09:14I had a vision I was seeing through seven earths.
09:17We hear seven, what's seven earths?
09:19Who knows?
09:20He was he, Prophet, going down through seven earths where his holy feet were, Allah knows.
09:27And he said, oh, Ali, look up.
09:30And he looked up.
09:31I saw from his holy navel up to his holy chin,
09:37up through seven heavenly earths where his holy head were, Allah knows.
09:41Then he said, oh, Ali, look at me again.
09:48And I looked, I saw nothing but Prophet, everything in existence.
09:53So he's everywhere.
09:55But we're not aware of it.
09:57We're not aware.
09:58We're not aware for anything.
10:06We walk through the day sleeping.
10:08And this fasting is to polish the heart.
10:14Nothing makes the human being to be aware of his Lord or her Lord more than fasting.
10:19Fasting makes the ego to come down to think about something greater than itself, to be aware.
10:32And for that reason, we're trying to keep that fasting to polish our hearts and to become alert.
10:42And always at the end of Ramadan, Rana Shaykh would say, don't lose what you gain during holy Ramadan.
10:52According to famous hadith, shaitan is chained during Ramadan.
10:56Rana used to joke he went to Honolulu vacation, quickly coming back when Ramadan is finished.
11:03We used to go through the streets of London on evening, cats are suddenly everywhere looking like that, troublemaking in their eyes.
11:11Where they were all Ramadan, we don't know.
11:15Quickly, shaitan coming back again.
11:19We're asking our Lord to help us to keep what we gain through these days and nights.
11:25More than usual prayings, more than usual salawat, more than usual reciting the holy Quran.
11:30All these things, polishing our hearts, making us to be aware.
11:35Make us, O our Lord, not to lose it, but to keep it.
11:39To keep it, guard it carefully.
11:41He said everything in holy sharia, everything in tariqah and Sufi ways,
11:49is only to get more lights or to keep that light from being leaked off, to be wasted.
11:55So we're asking our Lord, we're so weak.
11:57Everything, if you put in our hands anything, we lose it quickly.
12:03So I'll finish, there was a story.
12:07There was a person, he wants from his sheik, his amanat, his trust.
12:13Everyone wants from his sheik to open for him the secrets of heavens and earth to know.
12:19So, and he's always after his sheik, every time over, he said, finally one day the sheik
12:27called him and said, oh my son, oh my marid, your trust is in the hands of sheik so-and-so
12:36in the next village.
12:38He has your trust.
12:41I'm sending you to him.
12:42You go to him, on my behalf, you give it to you.
12:45He opened for her.
12:47Marie was very happy.
12:49He said, and take, when you go to him, take his gift from me to him as a token of my respect,
12:57and he'll be happy to receive it.
12:59And he gave him a little box to take with a gift, some gift in.
13:04He says, don't open this.
13:05Give to her, sheik so-and-so.
13:07And that marine set out, you're very happy.
13:11Finally, you're going to get something day after day, doing everything, nothing.
13:18He's walking along, holding that box, and he's hearing from that box the sounds.
13:29And he said, maybe I broke.
13:34Maybe there was something in there, I broke it.
13:36I better check and see, what if it was something, glass, and I'd give it to the, I better check
13:42and make sure it is not broken.
13:44Hey, Tom Kling, listen.
13:47He shakes it, don't open it, don't take it straight there and deliver it as it is.
13:51He says, no, I have to check.
13:52He opens the box, a mouse jumps out, oh, phew, runs into the bushes, finished.
13:58You're never going to find that mouse again.
14:00An owl might be able to, but we never find it.
14:02He says, maybe he won't notice, and close, he closed the box.
14:09There's always hope.
14:11He closed the box and continues to that, sheik.
14:16He comes and gives the sheik.
14:18He takes the box and puts it.
14:20He says, you couldn't keep even a mouse.
14:21How are you expecting to get to Rahana?
14:26So may Allah subhanahu to make us to keep what we gain during Ramadan is more than a mouse.
14:32It's treasures.
14:33Malama is putting in every Marie's heart treasures during his mouth depositing.
14:39Like seeds, like downloading, like however you want to think about it.
14:42Pudding, pudding, pudding.
14:44Until it's ready to come out.
14:46When it's ready to come out, it's going to come out.
14:48So, I ask to keep it year-round, to do our best, to do our best.
14:55There are so many things that can be said, but difficult nowadays to say anything about spirituality,
15:03because people don't understand.
15:05You say something, and people take it wrong way, or people misunderstand it.
15:10You say something, and then somebody repeat what you said.
15:12I didn't say that.
15:13The sheikh is keeping quiet, mostly.
15:17You give the hadith of the last day, and the Bukhari said like this, and the Muslim said like that,
15:22and because it's difficult now.
15:24May Allah save us, make us to reach to happier times, better times.
15:31La taqnatu mi rahmeti Allah.
15:32Never give up hope.
15:34La ta'yasu mi rahmeti Allah.
15:36Say, Sayyidina Yaqub.
15:38Never give up hope of Allah's mercy and blessings.
15:43Even times is the worst times, and we hope to pass through it to best times, inshallah.
15:48Beharmet al-Habib, Beharmet al-Fatiha.
15:53Ameen, Ameen, Ameen.
15:55Shukran.
15:56Wa sallam alaikum.
15:57Wa alaikum.
15:58Wa alaikum.
15:59Wa alaikum.
16:00Allah.
16:00Allah.
16:01Allah.
