00:00With the exception of their youngest child who was born in the United States,
00:04all members of this family in the town of Fridley in Minnesota are seeking asylum from Honduras.
00:11Both parents have given up their jobs for now.
00:14The father saw colleagues being arrested by ICE officers,
00:17while the restaurant where the mother worked closed down after a worker was taken away.
00:21She also had to confront officers.
00:25I was driving to my job and suddenly I noticed a very strange car get really close to me.
00:31They told me that my children had to carry all their documents with them.
00:35But I still don't have papers for my daughter that prove she's mine.
00:39And I'm afraid they'll take her away from me.
00:43They're relying on help from their children's school and the church to get by.
00:48A third of almost 3,000 children haven't turned up to class since patrols increased in January.
00:54There are no words, just none.
00:57Because you see your children suffer, wanting to go out for an ice cream.
01:01And as a father, even if you want to let them, you can't.
01:04No words at all.
01:06Locals are trying to get in ICE's way.
01:10They're not filming you, they're just filming me.
01:12Good to see you.
01:14Brenda Lewis, who oversees schools in the area, patrols the streets twice a day to make sure that agents don't follow children on their way to class and back.
01:24I just want you guys to not be out here.
01:27OK.
01:28She looks out for the staff too.
01:30Do Salvation Army another day?
01:32Yeah.
01:33I'm just nervous for you guys, OK?
01:34And I'll watch you till you get back there.
01:36All right.
01:37Becky Ringstorm was arrested after following an ICE vehicle.
01:42The agent on my driver's side reached in and unlocked my door himself.
01:47I asked what I was being charged with, why I was being pulled from the vehicle.
01:51None of these questions were answered.
01:53A court date is still to be determined, but she insists that her patrols must continue.
