00:00Meanwhile, as Donald Trump sends out his invites to the launch meeting of his Board of Peace later
00:05this month, a body that will aim to raise money for the reconstruction of Gaza, one of the board's
00:10signatories, Indonesia, says it could send up to 8,000 troops to join a proposed multinational
00:16peacekeeping force for the devastated territory. A spokesperson for President Prabowo Subianto
00:22said Tuesday that the force could include 20,000 soldiers in total, though no deployment terms or
00:28areas of operation had been agreed. We have started training personnel who might later serve as
00:36peacekeepers, so that means engineering, medical units, the types often deployed. We are preparing
00:42such units. It could be one brigade, maybe 5,000 to 8,000 personnel, but everything is still under
00:49negotiation, not yet final. Well, for more on this, we can bring in our Jerusalem correspondent Noga
00:55Tarnopolski. Noga, is that 8,000 troop figure realistic?
01:04It's very difficult to answer you, Karis, and as a matter of fact, neither the United States
01:09nor Israel have responded in any way to this statement, which just later today we heard
01:15was made by Indonesia as a, quote, goodwill gesture to the United States. The White House apparently is
01:22seeking these kind of at least theoretical assurances from members of the Peace Board so that next week
01:30it will be able to present something that looks like a more realistic proposal. For now, it's important
01:36to underscore there's simply no plan to replace either security forces of Hamas in Gaza or really to
01:46establish a new governing structure in Gaza. We do have this so-called technocratic committee of
01:52Palestinian bureaucrats, some very top level. They haven't yet been even let into Gaza. So for now,
02:00the terms of the second phase of the ceasefire seem quite theoretical, and I think that the White
02:07House is principally trying to beef them up ahead of its expected announcement next week.
