00:00Filipino boxing prospect Gabriel Santissima claimed the WBO Asia-Pacific Super Bantamweight title
00:06after scoring a unanimous decision victory over previously undefeated Japanese champion Subaru Murata
00:12at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
00:16Murata entered the bout with a spotless 10-0 record, all wins coming by knockout,
00:21but the 21-year-old Santissima spoiled the Japanese fighter's perfect run
00:26with a composed and convincing performance over the full distance.
00:30Santissima took control early in the fight, showcasing superior aggression and cleaner combinations against Murata.
00:37A Japanese boxer managed to regain momentum in the middle rounds,
00:41particularly from the fourth to the sixth, as he found success with counterpunches.
00:46However, late in the sixth round, Santissima turned the tide decisively by flooring Murata with a crisp left hook.
00:53From that point on, the Filipino maintained command of the action
00:57and closed out the bout strongly through the final round.
01:01With the win, Santissima improved his professional record to 10 wins and 1 loss,
01:06including 7 knockouts, while boosting his standing as a rising contender
01:10and strengthening his case for bigger opportunities on the regional and international stage.
