00:00The Epstein files are rippling through politics on both sides of the Atlantic,
00:04with officials in the U.S. and the United Kingdom demanding more answers.
00:08U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer is now under pressure in Parliament and from the public,
00:13potentially imperiling his job as two senior aides left their posts in 24 hours amid fallout
00:20over former ambassador to the U.S. Peter Mandelson. Starmer removed Mandelson back in September
00:25after a report by Bloomberg News revealed the depth of his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.
00:30Starmer did not know Epstein, but there have been calls from some in his own party for him to step
00:35aside over that hiring decision. Still, the Prime Minister caught a break today as every cabinet
00:41minister threw their support behind his leadership and vows to release more information. While
00:46Starmer faces questions abroad about next steps, President Trump here in the U.S. is urging the
00:51country to move on from the files altogether. That could be complicated by lawmakers hoping to
00:56glean more details as Monday marks the first chance for them to review unredacted copies at the Department
01:01of Justice. President Trump noted last week he had not read the newly released files, which contained
01:07the names of several high-profile individuals, including himself, as well as others like former
01:12President Bill Clinton. Neither has been accused of wrongdoing, but the appearance of their names is
01:17drawing fresh scrutiny about their relationships with the disgraced financier and how Washington will
01:23react next. One of the House members leading the charge for more information is Republican
01:28Congressman Thomas Massey, who has openly clashed with the President over the Department of Justice's
01:33investigation. President Trump is now throwing his weight behind Massey's primary challenger in May,
01:39which could serve as a test of his command over the party and the potential staying power of this issue.
